Troparion of prophecy, tone 6:

We bow to your cross, Master, and we glorify your Holy Resurrection.

Glory, and now: and we repeat the same.

Troparion of prophecy, tone 6: We worship Your Cross, O Lord, and glorify Your holy Resurrection!

Glory, even now: and we repeat the same troparion.

Prokeimenon (Psalm 73), tone 4: God is our king from before the age, / brought salvation in the midst of the earth.

Verse: What, O God, have you rejected to the end? Is Your anger angry against the sheep of Your pasture?

Prokeimenon (Psalm 73), tone 4: God, our eternal King, accomplished salvation in the center of the earth.

Verse: God, why have you completely rejected us, why have you become angry with the sheep of your flock?

Reading the prophecies of Isaiah. [Isa.28:14–22]

This is the word of the Lord: Hear the word of the Lord, you men of bitterness, and the princes of the people who are in Jerusalem. Like a decrepit, I made a covenant with hell, and with death: even if the storm passes by, it will not come upon us: put our hope in lies, and we will be covered with lies. For this reason the Lord says: Behold, I lay for the foundation of Zion a stone of great value, chosen, a cornerstone, honorable, for its foundation, and he who believes will not be ashamed of the stench. And I will put judgment into hope, and My mercy will be upon Merilech, And those who have trusted in vain in lies: lest the storm pass you by, And the covenant of death will not be taken away from you, and your hope, He who goes to hell will not remain. If the coming storm comes, you will be trampled underfoot. Whenever it passes by, it will take you up: for every morning the hope of evil will pass into day, and in the night there will be hope of evil: learn to hear the oppression: We cannot fight, but we ourselves are exhausted, Let us gather together now.

The Lord will rise like a mountain against the wicked, and He will be in the wilds of Gibeon, He will do His works with wrath, woe is the work: His wrath will be used against others, and His destruction will be strange. And do not rejoice, let your bonds be as far as possible: the things which you have heard from the Lord of hosts are ended and cut short, which he will do over all the earth.

Reading the prophecy of Isaiah [28:14–22]

Thus says the Lord: Hear the word of the Lord, you afflicted men and rulers of this people who are in Jerusalem. You said: “We have made a covenant with hell and a covenant with death. If the rushing storm passes, it will not reach us; we have made lies our hope and will cover ourselves with lies.” Therefore, this is what the Lord God says: “Behold, I am laying for the foundation of Zion a stone of great value, chosen, cornerstone, precious, for its foundation, and whoever believes in it will not be put to shame. And I will make judgment hope, and My mercy will be the standard, and you hope in vain for lies, because the storm will not pass you by and will not deprive you of the covenant with death, and your hope in hell will not stand. If a rushing storm attacks, it will crush you. When it flies by, it will carry you away: every morning will fly by during the day, and at night there will be little hope. Learn to hear, oppressed: “We cannot fight, we do not even have the strength to gather you.”

The Lord will rise like a mountain against the wicked, and like a mountain against those who are cut off, and it will be as in the valley of Gibeon: He will complete His deeds with wrath, harsh deeds; His anger will manifest itself with hostility, and His severity will be unfriendly. And do not rejoice, lest your bonds become stronger, because I have heard from the Lord of hosts about the deeds planned and ready to be accomplished, which He will accomplish throughout the whole earth.

Prokeimenon (Psalm 74), tone 4: I will rejoice forever, / I will sing to the God of Jacob.

Verse: We confess to You, O God, we confess to You and we will call on Your name.

Prokeimenon (Psalm 74), tone 4: I will rejoice forever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

Verse: We will glorify You, O God, we will glorify You and call on Your name!
