Lord, Lord! You are righteous, and Your judgment is righteous: You, in Your eternal Wisdom, have set the limit of our life, and no one will pass it. Wise are Your laws, unsearchable are Your ways! You commanded the angel of death to take from the body the soul of a baby and an old man, from a husband and a young man, from a healthy and sick person, according to Your destinies unspeakable and unknown to us; but we believe that this is Your holy will, because, according to the judgment of Your righteousness, You, Most Good Lord, are the all-wise and omnipotent and omniscient Physician of souls and bodies You send our illnesses and ailments, misfortunes and misadventures to man, like spiritual medicine.
You strike him and heal him, you kill what is dead in him and give life to the immortal, and, like a child-loving Father, you punish him even as you accept him: we pray to You, Lover of Mankind Lord, accept Your servant (Your servant) (name) who has come to You, whom You sought with Your love for mankind, punishing him with a serious bodily illness, in save the soul from mortal illness; and if all this has received from You with humility, patience and love for You, as the all-powerful Physician of our souls and bodies, show him (her) riches today Thy mercy, for he who endured all this sin for his own sake. Impute to him (her), Lord, this temporary serious illness as some punishment for the sins committed in this vale of mourning, and heal his (her) soul from ailments sinful. Have mercy, Lord, have mercy on the one sought by You, and punished temporarily, I pray to You, do not punish him with the deprivation of Your eternal heavenly blessings, but make him (you) eligible to enjoy them in Your Kingdom.
And if Your servant (Your servant) has died, without reasoning within yourself, for the sake of this be the touch of Your healing and providential Hand, obstinately that the speech in itself, or, according to our foolishness, grumbling in our hearts, as if we took this burden upon ourselves as unbearable, or, due to the weakness of our nature, suffering from a long illness and being saddened by a misfortune, we pray to You, the Long-suffering and Most merciful Lord, forgive him (her) these sins according to Your boundless mercy and Your unconditional mercy towards us sinners and unworthy Thy servants, forgive for the sake of love Yours to the human race; If his (her) iniquity exceeds his (her) head, but illness and illness do not move him (her) to full and sincere repentance, we beseech Thee, the Master of life ours, we beg by Your redemptive merits, have mercy and save, O Savior, Your servant (Your servant) from eternal death. Lord God, our Savior!
You, by faith in You, granted forgiveness and remission of sins, granting pardon and healing to the thirty-year-old paralytic, when you said: “Your sins are forgiven you”; With this faith and trust in Your goodness, we resort to Your, O Most Generous Jesus, ineffable mercy and in the tenderness of our hearts we pray to You, Lord: and today the word of mercy, the word of remission of sins to the departed, ever remembered by us, Thy servant (Thy servant) (name), may he heal the spirit, and may he dwell in the place brighter, in a place of peace, where there is no illness, no sorrow, no sighing, and may his (her) illnesses and ailments, tears of suffering and sorrow, be changed into a source of joy about Dus Holy. Amen.
