To Thee, O Most Pure Mother of God, with great reverence I fall down and pray: Lord, King, because continually I sin against Thee and Thy God, and many times I confess, finding myself in a false peace before God, and trembling in confession: will not the Lord smite me, and again weigh heavily upon me at the appointed time. Knowing this, O my Lady Theotokos, My Right Hand, I pray, that Thou mayest forgive me, strengthen me, and work good for me. For indeed, O my Lady Theotokos, from one moment to another I am in hatred of my own deeds, and with all my heart I love the Law of Thy God: but I do not know, O Most Pure Mother, whence I hate, that I may also love, and thus commit sin. Do not allow, O Most Pure Mother, my will to accomplish this, for it is not meet; but let Thy will be done, both Thine and Thy God’s: that Thou mayest save me, enlighten me, and give good gifts to the Father of mercies, so that I might cease from all unclean deeds, and have lived henceforth in obedience to Thee, which is fitting for every glory, honor, and power, with the Father and the Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
