To Thee, O most merciful Theotokos, I, a sinner, do humbly pray: forgive me, O King, for continually sinning and grieving Thy holy Name and Mine own, and oftentimes repenting, I lie before Thee in sorrow, and repent with trembling. Will not the Lord smite me, and again at the appointed time bear heavily upon me? Knowing this, my Lady Theotokos, my Master, I pray Thee to have mercy on me, to strengthen me, and to grant good works. For indeed, O my Lady Theotokos, from one moment I hate My own deeds, and with all my heart love the Law of Thy Son: but I do not know, O most merciful, whence I hate, that I may also love, and thus commit sin. Do not allow, O most merciful, my will to accomplish this, for it is not meet; but let Thy will and Mine Son's be done: that Thou mayest save me, comfort me, and grant good gifts to the venerable Father, that henceforth I may cease from all unclean deeds, and have lived in obedience to Thy commandment, which is meet for all glory, honor, and power, with Thee, O Lord, now and forever, and into the ages of ages. Amen.
