To Thee, O Most Pure Mother of God, with deep compunction I fall down before Thee in prayer: Remember me, O Queen, for I have sinned exceedingly and provoked Thy wrath and the wrath of my God many times over. I confess again today, trembling in heart: Will not the Lord punish me? And yet again I sin. Knowing this, O my Lady Theotokos, I beseech Thee, that Thou wouldst forgive me, strengthen me, and grant me to do good deeds. For indeed, O my Lady Theotokos, though I hate with all my soul the works of my wickedness, and love with all my heart Thy Law; yet I know not from whence cometh this hatred, nor wherefore I love it, but in doing evil I sin. Do not allow, O Most Pure One, that my will accomplish such deeds, for it is not meet: But let Thy will and the will of my God be done, that Thou wouldst save me, enlighten me, and grant me eternal life, so that henceforth I may cease from all evil deeds and live in obedience to Thee, which is fitting for every glory, honor, and good, and the abiding house of Thy Son, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
