To Thee, O Most Pure Mother of God, with great reverence I fall down and pray: Lord, King, because continually I sin against Thee and against Thy Son, Jesus Christ, and many times I confess, lying before the Lord, I find myself trembling in confession: will it not be that Thou wilt smite me, and again at some hour I shall sin. Knowing this, O my Lady Theotokos, my Master, I pray Thee, to have mercy on me, to strengthen me, and to grant good works to do for me. For indeed, O my Lord, because in hatred I hold the deeds of my soul, and with all my mind I love Thy Law: but I know not, O Most Pure Mother, whence I hate, yet I love it, and thus I sin. Do not permit, O Most Pure Mother, my will to accomplish these things, for it is not good; but may Thy will be done, both Thine and Mine: that Thou mightest save me, enlighten me, and grant good gifts for the ages, so that I may cease from all unclean deeds, and live henceforth in obedience to Thee, which is meet for all glory, honor, and power, with the Father and the Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
