Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us: for all of us are unwise in sin, this prayer we offer to Thee as sinners; have mercy on us.

Glory to Thee, and to Thy Son, and to Thy Holy Spirit.

Lord, have mercy on us, for in thee we trust: let not thy wrath light upon us, nor remember against us our transgressions of old; but look down now upon us with favor and deliver us from our enemies: thou art God our King, and we thy people, all our works are by thine hand, and to thee do we cry.

And now and for ever. Amen.

Mercy openeth the doors of salvation to us, O Blessed Theotokos: trusting in thee, let us not perish, but be delivered by thee from calamities: for thou art the Saviour of the race of Christians.

Lord, have mercy. [v.]

O Lord, eternal and King of all creation, having vouchsafed me even in this hour to come to Thee, forgive me my sins which I have committed today, by deed, word, and thought: and cleanse, O Lord, my humble soul from every stain of body and spirit, and give me, O Lord, a sound sleep this night: that arising from my humble bed, I may find rest in Thy holy name throughout all the days of my life, and overcome those who war against me, both fleshly and spiritual: and deliver me, O Lord, from thoughts of vain things, defiling me, and from the lusts of the wicked.

For Thine is the kingdom, and power, and glory, Father, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

O All-Ruling Lord, Word of God, most perfect Son, Jesus Christ, many times have I sought mercy from Thee, Thy merciful Heart never refusing me, but always dwelling in me. O Jesus Christ, Good Shepherd of Thy flocks, do not deliver me into the hands of my enemies, and let me not be left to the will of Satan, for indeed sevenfold is his deceit within him. Thou art the Lord, God, Jesus Christ, ever sleeping yet ever watching over Thee, with an unquenchable light preserving me in Thy holy home, where Thou didst leave Thy teaching to me. Grant also to me, unworthy servant of Thine, rest upon my bed: enlighten my soul with Thy Light, loving it with the love of Thine own Heart, and with Thy words, let my heart be moved by Thy compassion; with Thy passionless strength, let my body be preserved; keep my thoughts in Thy humility, and raise me up at the time to be like Thy glorious praise for ever. Amen.

Mercy God, to Thy throne:

O Lord, heavenly King, Comforter, Spirit of Truth, have mercy on me, a sinful servant of Thine, and forgive me my unworthy prayer, and blot out all my sins, for I have sinned today both as a man and more than a man, even as the lowest of beasts: both voluntary and involuntary, known and unknown, from youth to old age. Even in my thoughts I have blasphemed Thee; I have also spoken evil of Thee; I have also grieved others; I have also been angry for no cause; I have also lied; I have also ploughed without purpose; I have also despised the poor who came to me; I have also troubled my brother, my bride, and those whom I judged; I have also quarreled, I have also become proud, I have also been angered: I have also stood at prayer while Thou wast moved by my deceit in this world; I have also had evil thoughts, I have also offended Thee with my deeds, and by these I was pierced in heart: I have also spoken unseemly words, I have also mocked the sin of my brother, for mine are countless sins: I have also been unwilling to pray, and even more, I know not what else I have done evil. For all these and greater than these, forgive me, O Creator, Thou Who art unworthy servant of Thine: and leave me not, but blot out and forgive me, for Thou art good and lover of mankind: that I may lie down in peace, sleep and rest, the prodigal, sinful and sinner I am: and I will prostrate myself, and praise Thee, and glorify Thy most holy Name with the Father and the Only-begotten Son, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Mercy, O God, of great and glorious memory:

What hast thou brought, or what wilt thou give, O bountiful immortal King, most loving of men, Lord; for having been idle in thy will and doing nothing good, thou hast led me to the end of this day, turning and saving my soul. Be mindful of my sinfulness, O sinful one, and be naked before all my evil deeds: raise up my fallen soul, defiled by countless sins, and let all my thoughts of wickedness be made visible in this life. Forgive my transgressions, only Thou who art without sin; for I have sinned today both knowingly and unknowingly, by word, deed, thought, and all my senses. Thou Thyself coverest me from every opposing resistance with Thine ineffable love and power. Purify Thee, O Lord, the multitude of my sins. Willingly grant me deliverance from the nets of the wicked, save my sinful soul, and enlighten me with the light of Thy face when Thou comest in glory: and let not my sleep be unseasoned now, nor my thoughts unworthy of a servant; and utterly destroy all the works of Satan within me. Enlighten our understanding hearts, that we may not fall into death. And send us an angel of peace, guardian and instructor of soul and body, that he may keep me from my enemies: and when I arise with my spirit, bring to Thee my thankful prayers. Hearken Thou, O Lord, to Thy sinful and righteous servant, by will and conscience: give me to learn by thy words, and let the evil spirits be driven far from me by thy angels: and bless Thou my standing, and praise and glorify the Most Holy Theotokos, who gave us a defense against our sins, and receive this praying one for us: for we know that Thy love follows us, and our prayers do not cease. By this defense, and by this sign of thy great mercy, and for all thy saints, keep Thou my holy soul with the Theotokos: for thou art, and art glorified to the ages. Amen.

O Lord our God, who have sinned today in word, deed, and thought, forgive us because Thou art a God of love and mercy. Give me rest and peace, O guardian angel sent to watch over me, covering and keeping me from all evil: for Thou art the Guardian of our souls and bodies, and unto Thee we send glory, Father, and Son, and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

O Lord our God, in whom we have believed, and by whose name we invoke all others: grant us, as we depart to sleep, the weakening of soul and body, and keep us from every vain desire; and let darkness cover the temptations of the flesh. Grant us a pure heart of life and words: that we may receive with integrity both our deeds and our speech; and not fall away from thy blessed promises, for thou art blessed to the ages. Amen.

O Lord Jesus Christ, our God, with Thy pure Mother and all the angels, archangels, and holy martyrs, confessors, and bishops, by their prayers, keep me this present battle from the assaults of evil spirits.

Be Thou my Creator and my Maker, that I may not desire death for the sinner, but rather that he be converted to life, grant also to me a turning towards Thee, O merciful One, and undeserving: change me from the deadly words, speaking to devour me, and lead me into hell alive.

O Lord my God, my Comforter, which hast covered me with thy flesh in the corruptible body, draw me away from the covering of sin, and grant me compunction for my sins. Enter into my heart, O my Soul, by Thy Incarnation, that I may not be left to sin.

Impress Thy commandments upon my heart, and put away the works of darkness, and receive the blessings of Thee: for unto Thee have I entrusted myself, save me.

Of Saint Peter Studite:

Thy holy rule, O Father, doth teach us to flee from every sin and to walk in the way of righteousness.

Thy pure life, O Venerable One, was a mirror of true piety and a pattern for all who seek to follow Thee.

Through Thy compunction of heart, O Father, Thou didst show us the path of true humility and the power of prayer.

Thy stranger life, O Venerable One, in the wilderness was a testimony to Thy love for God and Thy desire for spiritual purity.

Thou didst fight against the delusion that the world offers any true joy or satisfaction; therefore, Thou wast ever zealous for the things of God.

O Father, by Thy mercy, we beseech Thee to intercede for us before the throne of grace, that we may find true peace and rest in Christ our Lord.

To Thee, O Most Pure Mother of God, with great reverence I fall down and pray: Remember me, O Queen, because without cease I sin and grieve Thee and Thy Son, and many times I confess my sins, lying before Thee in penitence. I confess tremblingly: Shall it not be that the Lord will smite me, and again at the appointed time I shall fall into distress? Knowing this, O My Lady, Thou Most Pure One, I beseech Thee, have mercy on me, strengthen me, and grant to do good deeds. For indeed, O My Lady, most pure one, although I hate with all my heart the works of sin, and love with all my mind the law of Thy Son: yet I know not from what source I am hated, but loving it, I commit evil. Do not allow, O Most Pure One, that my will accomplish this, for it is not meet; but may Thy will and the will of Thy Son be accomplished: to save me, to enlighten me, and to grant eternal blessings to the holy house of God now and forever, and to all ages. Amen.

Whoever hates us and fears us, forgive them, O Lover of mankind. Bless those who do good to us; grant to our brothers and kinsmen the gift of repentance for their salvation and eternal life. Visit in your mercy the sick among us, and give healing. Govern those who journey on the sea. Travel with those who travel. Support the Christians. Give grace to those who serve and love us by forgiving our sins. Pray for the unworthy that they may be forgiven according to thy great mercy. Remember before Thee, O Lord, our fathers and brothers departed in peace, and grant them rest where Thou dost sit at Thy Father's right hand. Remember also our brethren in captivity, and deliver them from every adversity. Remember those who bear fruit and do good deeds in thy churches, and give to them as well the gift of repentance for their salvation and eternal life. Remember us, O Lord, who are humble, sinful, and unworthy servants of Thy handiwork, and enlighten our hearts with the light of Thy wisdom, and guide us on the path of Thy commandments: through prayers glorify Thy Theotokos and Thy holy angels, and all thy saints, for Thou art blessed for ever and ever. Amen.

I confess to Thee, O Lord my God and Creator, in the Holy Trinity, glorified and worshipped, Father, and Spirit, and Power, all my sins which I have committed in all days of my life, and at every hour, and in this present time, and in past days and nights: by deeds, words, thoughts, prayers, drunkenness, secret sins, festive words, sighs, laziness, slander, accusation, negligence, self-love, many-sidedness, theft, unrighteous speaking, foul gain, hypocrisy, envy, anger, memory of evil, hatred, wickedness, and all my senses: by sight, hearing, tasting, smelling, and by other sins, both spiritual and bodily, with which I have provoked Thy God's wrath, and wronged my neighbor. Grieving over these, I humbly confess to Thee, O Lord my God, and have the will to be reconciled: truly, O my God, help me; with tears I beseech Thee: may Thy mercy blot out all my past sins, for Thou art good and lover of mankind.

Mercy of the holy and venerable John Damascus,

who pointed to thy wound, said:

"O Soul/Spirit, hast Thou no tenderness of heart?"

O Master, lover of mankind, wilt Thou indeed let this my grave be for me; or yet enlighten still my soul by Thy light today? Lo, before me is a grave, lo, death stands before me. In Thy judgment I fear, and endless torments; but not ceaseth the creating: ever do I tremble at Thine anger, O Lord of my God, and reproach Thee, and all Thy powers, and the guardian angel who keepeth me.

Verily, I know that Thou art angry with me, for I am unworthy of Thy love; but worthy am I of every judgment and torment. But whether Thou wilt or not, save me. For if Thou hast saved the righteous man, nothing is greater; and if Thou hast pitied the pure in heart, nothing is wonderful: for they are worthy to receive Thy mercy. But upon my sinfulness do marvel at Thee: that Thou mightest love me even more, lest my weakness overcome Thine unspeakable goodness and mercy: and as Thou wilt, order all things concerning me.

Thus desiring to lie upon the bed of repose,
they sang this troparion, tone 3:

Enlighten my eyes, O Lord Jesus Christ: that I may not fall into death, nor when the enemy saith: I have stiffened him against thee.

Glory to Thee, and to Thy Son, and to Thy Holy Spirit.

Protector of my soul be God, for I walk in the nets of many: deliver me from them, and save me more closely, for Thou art a lover of mankind.

And now and for ever. Amen.

O most Glorious Mother, and of the holy angels the most honorable, without ceasing we hymn with heart and tongue, confessing to Thee this truth, for truly Thou didst give birth to God Incarnate, and ceaselessly praying for our souls.

Also, make thy seal upon me, and consecrate with thy seals the place of my head even unto my feet, thus also from all lands, saying:

Mercy in the precious Kiss:

Let God arise; let His enemies be scattered; let those also who hate Him flee before Him.

O Lord, guard me by the power of Thy mighty and life-giving breath, and keep me from every evil.

When thou goest to sleep, say:

Lord God, have mercy.

In Thy hand, O Jesus Christ, my Lord and Theotokos, I交付我的灵魂:你却要祝福我,怜悯我,并赐给我永生的恩典。
