Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Troparion of the Feast. Even though it be a weekday, the Troparion of the Resurrection of Christ is sung.

O Lord, have mercy on us, O Lord: for all our sins we pray to Thee with unfeigned hearts, as sinners offering unto Thy Master: have mercy on us. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. O Lord, have mercy on us: for in hope we have trusted Thee; let not Thine anger burn against us nor remember our sins but look upon us now with good will and deliver us from our enemies: Thou art God our King, and we Thy people, all our works are by Thy hand, and to Thee we cry. And now and for ever. Amen.

The doors of the Theotokos be opened unto us, O blessed one: trusting in Thee that we may not perish but be delivered through Thee from tribulations: Thou art the salvation of the race of Christians. O Lord, have mercy. [Mn.]

If thou wilt, bowings.

And now we stand before Thee, O Lord.

O man, desiring to pray, approach the Lady with fear, that thou fall not: for fire is it. But first receive the precious blood into thy heart, and then offer it together. Thus boldly take up the holy chalice.

Mercy, O Virgin most pure:

Master, O Lord Jesus Christ, our Life and Source of immortality, Helper of all visible and invisible creatures, co-eternal with the Father, present in His power and without beginning, for many reasons Thou hast suffered in the last days to take flesh upon Thee, to be crucified, buried, and raised again for us, ungrateful and sinful, by Thy precious blood renewing our nature corrupted by sin: O Thou, Immortal King, receive my sinful confession, incline Thine ear unto me, and hear my words: I have sinned, O Lord, in Thee and before Thee, and am not worthy to look upon the height of Thy glory. I have provoked Thy goodness, transgressing Thy commandments and disobeying Thy precepts. But Thou, O merciful One, long-suffering and full of compassion, didst not deliver me over to destruction with my iniquities, but hast waited for my repentance. For Thou spakest by Thy loving Word: "For the desire of death is not from Thee, nor hast Thou willed the destruction of Thy creation; but Thou wilt that all be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth." Therefore, though I am unworthy of earth and heaven, having lived my allotted time in sin, enslaved by pleasure, defiling Thine image: yet being created and made by Thee, I do not despair of my salvation, trusting in Thy boundless mercy. Receive me, O merciful Lord, as a harlot, as a robber, as a tax-gatherer, and as a sinner, bearing my heavy burden of sins, the sin of the world, and the healing of human weakness, striving and burdened, calling and comforting, not to call the righteous but the sinners for repentance: cleanse me from all uncleanness of body and spirit, teach me to fulfill Thy commandments in suffering: that with the part of Thy Body and Blood I may receive Thee living and abiding within me, with Thy Father and Holy Spirit as my home. O Lord Jesus Christ, my God, do not let me partake of the precious and life-giving mysteries of Thy sacraments through weakness of soul and body, unworthy to receive them: but grant that even until my last breath I may receive a portion of Thy Body, in common fellowship, in guidance for eternal life, and in the blessed light at Thy dread judgment: for with all those whom Thou hast prepared loving Thee, O Lord, be I found among the uncorrupted, glorified with Thee to the ages. Amen.

Mercy, O holy John the Golden-mouthed:

O Lord my God, I know, verily, that I am not worthy and insufficient, yet I beseech Thee to enter into the sanctuary of my soul, for all is empty and desolate, and there is no place in me worthy to receive Thy head: but as Thou didst humble Thyself from the heights for our sakes, so also now humiliate Thine own self with my humility. And as Thou didst take me up into a manger and into the voice of dumb beasts: thus also receive into the voice of dumb beasts my soul, and enter into my defiled body.

And as Thou wast not worthy to enter in and to sup with the sinners in Simon the leper's house: so also Thou hast willed to enter into and into the house of my humility, which is leprous and sinful. And as Thou didst not anoint a like sinner and sinful woman who came and touched Thee: thus also Thou dost forgive me, O Soul, being sinful and coming and touching Thee.

And as Thou didst not cleanse the foul and unclean lips of those who healed Thee: so also I beseech Thee to cleanse my foul and unclean lips and my foul and unclean hands, and the most foul and unclean tongue of mine. But may I be a coal from Thy holy fire, and the purity of Thy blood in cleansing, enlightenment, health of my humble soul and body, in alleviation of many of my sins, in keeping from all evil work of the devil, in quenching and forbidding my sinful and crafty custom, in mortifying passions, in supplying Thy commandments, in applying Thy divine gifts, and in possessing Thy kingdom. For Thou dost not despise the coming to Thee of Thy people, but as daring upon Thine ineffable goodness: and may I not be far from Thy communion, being snared by the thoughtless wolf.

Therefore I beseech Thee: O One God, keep my soul and body, heart, bowels, and all things in me, renewing them with Thy fear in my hands, making unshakable the purity of Thine in me: be Thou my helper and intercessor, feeding me in peace with life, worthy to stand before Thee with Thy saints: by Thy prayers and supplications, O most holy servants and by Thy mighty powers, and all Thy saints, who have blessed Thee from everlasting. Amen.
