Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread:
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors:
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.

O Lord, have mercy on us, O Lord: for all our sins we pray Thee with unwavering faith, as sinners offering this prayer to Thy Master: have mercy on us. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. O Lord, have mercy on us, for in hope we cry out to Thee: do not be angry with us nor remember our transgressions; but look upon us now as a merciful Father, and deliver us from our enemies: Thou art God our King, and we Thy people, all our works by Thine hand, and unto Thee we call. And now and for ever. Amen.

Let the gates of prayer be opened to us, O Blessed Theotokos: trusting in Thee that we may not perish but be delivered through Thee from tribulations: Thou art the salvation of the race of Christians. O Lord, have mercy. [Mk.]

If thou wilt, O Lord, let there be prostrations.

And now we stand before Thee, O Lord.

Mercy, O Virgin most pure:

Master, O Lord Jesus Christ, our Life and Source of immortality, Helper of all visible and invisible creatures, co-eternal with the Father, present in His uncreated power, for many reasons Thou didst take upon Thyself flesh in these last days, wast crucified, died, and buried for us sinners and ungrateful ones, renewing our nature corrupted by sin with Thine own blood: O Thou, the Immortal King, receive my sinful confession, incline Thine ear to me, and hear my words: I have sinned, O Lord, I have sinned against Thee and before Thee, and am not worthy to look upon Thy divine glory. For I have offended Thy goodness by transgressing Thy commandments and disobeying Thy will. But Thou, O merciful One, long-suffering and full of compassion, didst not deliver me over to destruction with my sins, but hast waited for my repentance. Therefore, Thou spakest, loving man as Thou dost: For I desired not the death of the sinner, but that he might turn and live. For Thou wouldest not destroy Thy creature made by Thine own hand, nor didst Thou will the destruction of mankind, but wouldest have all saved through faith and truth. Therefore, though unworthy as a sinner of earth, having spent my whole life in sin and defiling Thee, I come to Thee, O Lover of man, as a harlot, as a robber, as a tax-gatherer, and as a sinner, bearing the heavy burden of my sins, the sin of this world, and the healing of human weakness, striving and burdened, calling upon Thee and comforting me, not to call the righteous but the sinners for repentance: cleanse me from all uncleanness of body and spirit, teach me to fulfill Thy commandments in Thy passion: that I may receive with a clean conscience the parts of Thy Passion, being united with Thy Body and Blood, and have Thee living and abiding in me, with Thy Father and Spirit. O Lord Jesus Christ, my God, do not let me partake of the precious and life-giving mysteries of Thy sacraments through weakness of soul and body, nor be unworthy to receive a part of Thy Passion: but grant me even until the end of my life, to receive without condemnation a share in Thy Passion, for general communion, as an instruction for eternal life, and as a comforting light on the fearful judgment seat. For I shall be with all those whom Thou hast prepared loving Thee, O Lord, wherefore Thou art glorified forever. Amen.

Mercy, O Virgin Anna Golden-mouthed:

O Lord my God, I know, indeed, that I am not worthy and insufficient to enter into the sanctuary of my soul today, for it is wholly empty and desolate; and there is no place in me worthy enough to receive Thy head: but as Thou didst humble Thyself from on high for our sakes, so also now humiliate Thyself with my humility. And even as Thou wast received in a manger and heard the voiceless cries of the beasts: thus also receive into the voiceless cries of my soul, and into my defiled body. And even as Thou didst not find it fitting to enter, but to spend the evening with sinners in the house of Simon the leper: so also Thou hast willed to enter into the house of my humbled soul, which is leprous and sinful. And even as Thou didst not anoint a like sinner and sinful one who came and touched Thee: thus also Thou dost forgive me, O sinners, coming and touching Thee. And even as Thou didst not cleanse the foul and unclean lips of those who healed Thee: but my own foul and unclean lips and uncleanness, and my very foul and most unclean tongue. But may I be a coal from Thy altar, and the scent of Thy blood, in cleansing, illumination, health, and the sanctification of my humbled soul and body, in alleviation of many of my sins, in the observance of all devilish deeds, in the quenching and prohibition of my own evil habit, in the mortification of passions, in the supply of Thy commandments, in the application of Thy divine grace, and in the appropriation of Thy kingdom. For Thou dost not despise the coming to Thee of Thy people, but daringly relying on Thine ineffable goodness: and may I not be far from Thy communion, being a thoughtless wolf snared by Thee.

Therefore I pray Thee: as One alone holy, sanctify my soul and body, heart and bowels, and all of me, and root fear of Thee in my thoughts, and the cleansing of Thee unshakable within me. And be Thou my helper and intercessor, feeding me with life today, worthy to stand before Thee with Thy saints: by Thy prayers and holy ministers and mighty powers, and all Thy saints, who have been blessed from eternity. Amen.
