Our Father, who art on high, hallowed be Thy name; let Thy kingdom come; let Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. Trípaurion of the feast.

O Lord, have mercy on us, O Lord: for all our sins we pray to Thee with compunction of heart, as sinners; have mercy on us. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. O Lord, have mercy on us: for in hope we have trusted Thee; let not Thine anger be kindled against us, nor count our transgressions against us; but look upon us now with good will, and deliver us from our enemies: Thou art God our King, and we Thy people, all our works are by Thy hand, and to Thee we cry. And now and for ever. Amen.

The gates of hell have been opened for us, O Blessed Theotokos: trusting in Thee, let us not perish but be delivered by Thee from tribulations: Thou art the salvation of the race of Christians. O Lord, have mercy. [Mn.]

And prostrations, as thou wilt.

Mercy, O Virgin most pure:

Master, O Lord Jesus Christ, our Life and Source of immortality, Helper of all visible and invisible creatures, co-eternal with the Father, present in His uncreated Power, both beginningless and endless, for many days having come into this corruptible flesh, being crucified, buried, and rising again for us sinners and lawless ones, by Thy precious Blood renewing our nature corrupted by sin: Thou, O Immortal King, receive my sinful confession, incline Thine ear to me, and hear my words: I have sinned, O Lord, having sinned both before Thee and in Thy sight, and am not worthy to look upon the height of Thy glory. I have offended Thy goodness by transgressing Thy commandments and disobeying Thy will.

But Thou, O Merciful One, long-suffering and full of compassion, didst not deliver me over to destruction with my unrighteousness, but hast desired all to be saved, in the truth and reason. Therefore, even I, though unworthy of earth and its fleeting life, having confessed my sins, enslaved by pleasure, defiling Thy image: yet as created and made by Thee, I do not despair of my salvation, relying on Thy boundless mercy and daring to come before Thee. Receive me, O Lover of mankind, as a sinner, as a robber, as a tax collector, and as a sinner, bearing my heavy burden of sins, the sin of this world, and the healing of human weakness, striving and burdened, calling upon and comforting, not coming to call the righteous but sinners for repentance: cleanse me from all uncleanness of body and spirit, and teach me to fulfill Thy commandments in Thy passion: that with a pure conscience I may receive part of Thy Body, being united with Thy Body and Blood, and have Thee living and abiding in me, with Thy Father and Spirit as my home. Thou, O Lord Jesus Christ, be mine, and let not my soul and body participate in the condemnation of the unrighteous mysteries, but grant that even to the end of my life I may receive part of Thy Body without judgment, in common fellowship, in guidance for eternal life, and in the blessed light on Thy fearful judgment: that with all those Thou hast chosen I may be among the imperishable joys, which Thou hast prepared for them who love Thee. Amen.

Mercy, O Lady Joanna the Golden-Throated:

O Lord my God, I know that I am not worthy and insufficient to enter into the sanctuary of my soul today, for it is wholly empty and desolate; there is no place in me worthy enough for Thee to bow Thine head: but as Thou didst humble Thyself from on high for our sakes, so also now humiliate Thyself with my humility. And as Thou didst receive into the manger and hear the voiceless cries of the beasts: thus also receive into the voiceless cries of my soul, and into my defiled body.

And as Thou wast not worthy to enter in and spend the evening with the sinners in the house of Simon the leper: so also Thou didst will to enter into the house of my humble soul, which is leprous and sinful. And as Thou didst not anoint a like sinner and sinful woman who came and touched Thee: thus also Thou didst forgive me, O Lord, coming to Thee and touching Thee with my sinfulness.

And as Thou didst not cleanse the foul and unclean lips of those who healed Thee: so also I cleanse Thy foul and unclean lips and unclean hands, and the most foul and unclean tongue of mine. But may I be a coal from Thine altar, and Thy holy blood in its consecration and illumination, for the health of my humble soul and body, in the alleviation of many of my sins, in the keeping from all evil work of the devil, in the quenching and forbidding of my sinful and crafty habit, in the mortification of passions, in the supply of Thy commandments, in the application of Thy divine grace, and in the appropriation of Thy kingdom.

For Thou dost not despise the coming to Thee, but daring on Thy ineffable goodness: and may I not by much withdrawing from Thy communion, be snared by the thoughtless wolf. Therefore I pray Thee: as One alone holy, keep my soul and body, heart and bowels, all of me, renewing in Me the fear of Thee in My hands, making unshakable in me the consecration of Thee: and be Thou my helper and intercessor, feeding me with life today, worthy to stand before Thee with Thy saints: by Thy prayers and holy ministers and powerful ones, and all Thy saints, for evermore. Amen.
