It is meet and right, truly, to bless Thee, O Theotokos, most pure, most blessed of women, and Mother of our God. More glorious than the cherubim, and beyond compare more radiant than the seraphim, thou who art the bearer of Him Who is born of God, we magnify thee as existing in thy holiness. Holy, holy, holy, Lord God, King, to Thee be glory, now and ever and to all ages of ages. Amen.

Thrice.[/

Glory to Thee, O God, and to Thy Christ, and to Thy Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Our Father, who art on high, that Thy name may be hallowed, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Troparion of the Feast. Even though it be a weekday, the Troparion of the Resurrection of Christ is sung.

O Lord, have mercy on us, O Lord: for all our days we are unthinking of death, and in this prayer we bring to Thee our sins as guilty ones: have mercy on us.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
O Lord, have mercy on us; for upon Thee we hope: do not be angry with us nor remember our transgressions, but look upon us now with a merciful heart and deliver us from our enemies: Thou art God our King, and we Thy people, all our works by Thine hand, and in Thee we call. And now and for ever.

Amen.
The doors of the Theotokos are opened to us, O Blessed One: trusting in Thee that we may not perish but be delivered through Thee from tribulations: Thou art the salvation of the race of Christians.
O Lord, have mercy.
[Kyrie.]
And let us fall down and pray to Thee as we please.

And now we stand before Thee, O Lord.

O man, desiring to pray, approach with fear, lest thou fall: for fire is it. But first receive the precious blood into thy heart, and reconcile thee to them that have offended thee. And boldly take up this holy baptism.

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Before partaking of the fearful sacrifices, O Life-giving One who sanctifiest the body, thus pray we with fear and trembling.

Mercy, O Virgin most pure:

Master, O Lord Jesus Christ, our Life and Source of immortality, Helper of all visible and invisible creatures, co-eternal with the Father, present in His uncreated power, for many reasons Thou hast suffered in the last days to take flesh, to be crucified, buried, and raised again for us, sinners and unworthy ones, by Thy precious blood renewing our nature corrupted by sin: O Thou, Immortal King, receive my sinful confession, incline Thine ear unto me, and hear my words: I have sinned, O Lord, I have sinned against Thee and before Thee, and am not worthy to look upon the height of Thy glory. I have offended Thy goodness by transgressing Thy commandments and disobeying Thy will. But Thou, O merciful One, long-suffering and full of compassion, didst not deliver me over to destruction with my unrighteousness, but hast willed all to be saved, in the understanding of truth. Therefore I, though unworthy of all this earth, having lived a life burdened by sin, defiling Thy image: yet being created and made by Thee, I do not despair of my salvation, relying on Thine infinite goodness and mercy, daring to come before Thee. Receive me, O merciful Lord, as Thou didst receive the sinner, the robber, the tax collector, and the prodigal, bearing my heavy burden of sins, sin of this world, healing the weakness of humanity, striving and burdened, calling and comforting, not coming to call the righteous but sinners for repentance: and cleanse me from all uncleanness of body and spirit, and teach me to fulfill Thy passion in Thy suffering: that with a clean conscience I may receive part of Thy passion, being united with Thy Body and Blood, and have Thee living and abiding in me, with the Father and the Spirit. O Lord Jesus Christ, my God, do not let me partake of the precious and life-giving mysteries of Thy sacraments unworthily: but grant that even until my last breath I may receive a portion of Thy passion, in common fellowship, in guidance to eternal life, and in the blessed light on Thy fearful judgment: for with all those Thou hast chosen, O Lover of mankind, I shall be among the uncorrupted, whom Thou didst prepare for them that love Thee. Amen.

Mercy to thee, O venerable John the Golden-mouthed:

O Lord my God, I know that I am not worthy and insufficient; yet I beseech Thee to enter into the sanctuary of my soul, for all is empty and desolate, and there is no place in me worthy enough for Thee to bow Thine head: but as Thou didst humble Thyself from on high for our sakes, so also now humiliate Thyself with my humility. And even as Thou wast received into the manger and layest among the senseless beasts, thus receive also the voiceless words of my soul, and enter into my defiled body.

And even as Thou didst not find it fitting to enter in, but wast crucified with sinners in Simon the leper's house: so also wilt Thou will to enter into the house of my humbled soul, which is leprous and sinful. And even as Thou didst not anoint a like sinner and sinful woman who came and touched Thee: thus also receive me, O Soul/Spirit, who am more sinful, coming and touching Thee.

And even as Thou didst not cleanse the foul and unclean lips of those who healed Thee: so also may I cleanse Thy foul and unclean lips, and Thy most abominable and filthy tongue. But let me be a coal from the furnace of Thy body, and the clearness of Thy blood in cleansing, enlightenment, health of my humbled soul and body, in alleviation of many of my sins, in keeping from all devilish works, in quenching and forbidding my sinful and crafty habit, in mortification of passions, in supplying Thy commandments, in applying Thyself to the possession of Thine own Theotokos.

For though Thou dost despise the coming to Thee of sinners, yet I dare on account of Thy ineffable goodness. And may not often withdrawing from Thy communion, I be snared by the thoughtless wolf. Therefore I pray Thee: as One alone holy, keep my soul and body, heart and bowels, all of me, renewing in Me fear of Thee in Thy hands, making unshakable Thy presence within My thoughts: and be Thou my helper and intercessor, feeding me with life in this world, worthy to stand before Thee with Thy saints: by Thy prayers and supplications, through the serviceless servants and preachers of Thine, and all Thy saints, from age to age. Amen.
