O Lord, have mercy on us, O Lord: for all our hope is in thee, and we bring to thee this prayer as sinners. Have mercy on us.

O Lord, have mercy on us; for upon thee we have relied: do not be angry with us, nor remember against us our transgressions, but look upon us now in compassion, and deliver us from our enemies: for thou art God our King, and we thy people, all our works by thine hand, and to thee we cry. O man, desiring to pray, approach with fear, lest thou fall: for fire is it. But the precious blood for common fellowship, first reconcile thee to them that have grieved thee. And this same boldness take thou in the sacred bath.

Master, O Lord Jesus Christ, our Life and Source of immortality, Helper of all visible and invisible creatures, co-eternal with the Father, present in His uncreated Power, both beginningless and endless, for many days having come into this corruptible flesh, being crucified, buried, and rising again for us sinners and lawless ones, by Thy precious Blood renewing our nature corrupted by sin: Thou, O Immortal King, receive my sinful confession, incline Thine ear to me, and hear my words: I have sinned, O Lord, in Thee and before Thee, and am not worthy to look upon the height of Thy glory. I have offended Thy goodness, having transgressed Thy commandments and disobeyed Thy commands. But Thou, O Merciful One, long-suffering and full of compassion, didst not deliver me over to destruction with my unrighteousness, but hast waited for my repentance. For Thou spakest by Thy lovingkindness: "For I desire not the death of a sinner, but that he turn and live." For Thou, O Creator of all things by Thine hand, didst not wish to destroy what Thou hadst created, nor didst Thou will the destruction of human dignity, but hast willed the salvation of all, in truth and righteousness. Therefore, though I am unworthy of all earth, and these temporal days, having sinned against Thee with my body and soul, defiling Thy image: yet as Thine creation, not despairing of my salvation, I boldly come to Thee by Thy boundless mercy. Receive me, O Lover of mankind, as a harlot, as a robber, as a tax collector, and as a sinner, bearing my heavy burden of sins, the sin of this world, and healing the weakness of human nature, striving and burdened, calling and comforting, not to call the righteous but the sinners for repentance: cleanse me from all uncleanness of body and spirit, and teach me to fulfill Thy commandments in Thy suffering: that with a pure conscience I may receive part of Thy Body, being united with Thy Body and Blood, and have Thee living and abiding in me, with Thy Father and Spirit as my home. Thou art my Lord Jesus Christ, and let not my soul and body be partaken of the precious and life-giving Mysteries unworthily: but grant that even until my last breath I may receive a portion of Thy Body, in common fellowship, in guidance to eternal life, and in the blessed light on Thy fearful judgment: for with all those whom Thou hast prepared loving Thee, O Lord, be I found among the uncorrupted, praised by Thee into the ages. O Lord my God, I know, verily, that I am not worthy and insufficient to enter into the sanctuary of my soul today, for it is wholly empty and desolate; and there is no place in me worthy enough for Thee to bow Thine head: but as Thou didst humble Thyself from on high for our sakes, so also now humiliate Thyself with my humility. And even as Thou didst receive into the manger and hear the voiceless cries of the beasts: thus also receive into the voiceless cries of my soul, and into my defiled body. And even as Thou wast not worthy to enter in and be glorified with the sinners in the house of Simon the leper: so also didst Thou will to enter into the house of my humility, which is leprous and sinful. And even as Thou didst not anoint a like sinner and sinful woman who came and touched Thee: thus also Thou didst forgive me, O sinless One, coming and touching Thee. And even as Thou didst not cleanse the foul and unclean mouths of those who healed Thee: so also do Thou cleanse my foul and unclean lips, and my foul and unclean hands, and my most foul and most unclean tongue. But let me be a coal from Thy furnace, and the scent of Thy blood, in consecration, illumination, health, and the sanctification of my humble soul and body, in alleviation of many of my sins, in keeping all evil devices of the devil, in quenching and forbidding my sinful and crafty custom, in the mortification of passions, in supplying Thy commandments, in applying Thy divine gifts to me. For Thou dost not despise the coming to Thee of Thy people, but daringly relying on Thine ineffable goodness: and let me not be far from Thy communion, being snared by the thoughts of a wolf. Therefore I beseech Thee: as One alone holy, sanctify my soul and body, heart and bowels, all of me; root fear of Thee in my hands, and make Thine consecration unassailable to me: and be Thou my helper and intercessor, feeding me with life today, worthy to stand before Thee with Thy saints: through Thy holy prayers and the service of Thy undefiled servants, and all Thy saints, from age to age.
