It is meet and right, O Lord, to bless Thee, the ever-blessed and ever-virgin Mary, our God-bearing Mother, and Theotokos of our Lord, Jesus Christ. More glorious than cherubim, and beyond compare more radiant than seraphim, thou who art the bearer of God's uncreated Word, O Theotokos, we magnify thee. Holy, holy, holy, O Lady. [Three times.]

Glory to Thee, O God, and to Thy Christ, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen. Pray for us: Lord, cleanse our sins: Master, forgive our lawlessness: Venerable One, visit and heal the sick among us, by Thine Name. Lord, have mercy. [Three times.]

Glory to Thee, O God, and to Thy Christ, and to Thy Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Our Father, who art on high, that Thy name may be hallowed, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Troparion of the Feast. Even though it be a weekday, the Troparion of the Resurrection of Christ is sung.

If therefore, O my soul, the troparion saith, the voice saith:

O Lord, have mercy on us, O Lord: for all of us are foolish by nature, and in this prayer we bring to Thee our sins as a sacrifice: have mercy on us. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. O Lord, have mercy on us, for upon Thee we hope: do not be angry with us nor remember our transgressions; but look upon us now in compassion, and deliver us from our enemies: for Thou art God our King, and we Thy people, all our works being by Thine hand, and to Thee we cry. And now and ever. Amen.

The doors of Thy mercy are opened unto us, O Blessed Theotokos: trusting in Thee that we may not perish, but be delivered through Thee from tribulations: for Thou art the salvation of the race of Christians. O Lord, have mercy. [Mn.]

If thou wilt, O Lord, bowings.

And now we stand before Thee, O Lord.

O man, desiring to pray, approach with fear, lest thou fall: for fire is it. But the precious blood for reconciliation, receive before common converse. And that same bold winepress, take with boldness.

And let us bless Him.

Mercy, O Virgin most pure:

Master, O Lord Jesus Christ, our Life and Source of immortality, Helper of all visible and invisible creatures, co-eternal with the uncreated Father, present in His power and authority from the beginning, for many days having come into this corruptible flesh, being crucified, buried, and shedding Thy precious blood for us, Thou hast renewed our nature corrupted by sin: O Thou, Immortal King, receive my sinful confession, incline Thine ear to me, and hear my words: I have sinned, O Lord, I have sinned against Thee and before Thee, and am not worthy to look upon the height of Thy glory. I have provoked Thy goodness by transgressing Thy commandments and disobeying Thy precepts.

But Thou, O merciful, long-suffering, and full of compassion, didst not deliver me over to destruction with my unrighteousness, but hast willed all to be saved, both in understanding and truth. Therefore, even I, though unworthy of earth and its fleeting life, having confessed myself guilty, enslaved by sin, defiling Thy image: yet being Thy creation and creature, I do not despair of my salvation, relying on Thine infinite mercy and daring to approach Thee.

Receive me, O Lover of mankind, as a sinner, as a robber, as a tax collector, and as a sinner, bearing my heavy burden of sins, the sin of this world, and healing the weakness of human nature, laboring and being burdened by calling and comforting, not coming to call the righteous but sinners for repentance: cleanse me from all uncleanness of body and spirit, and teach me to fulfill Thy commandments in Thy passion: that I may receive with a pure conscience the part of Thy commandments, uniting my body and blood with Thine, and have Thee living and abiding within me, with Thy Father and Spirit as my home. O Lord Jesus Christ, my God, do not let me participate in the judgment of those who are unworthy to receive Thy life-giving mysteries: but grant that even until my last breath I may worthily receive a part of Thy commandments, in common fellowship, in guidance for eternal life, and in the blessed light on Thy fearful judgment: that with all whom Thou hast prepared to love Thee, O Lord, I may be found among the uncorrupted, praised by Thee forever. Amen.

Mercy to thee, O venerable John the Golden-mouthed:

O Lord my God, I know that I am not worthy and am insufficient; yet I beseech Thee to enter into the sanctuary of my soul, for all is empty and withered, and there is no place in me worthy of Thy presence, where Thou mightest bow down Thine head: but as Thou didst humble Thyself from on high for our sakes, so also now humiliate Thyself with my humility. And even as Thou wast received into the manger and layest among the senseless beasts, thus receive also into the senseless words of my soul, and into my defiled body.

And even as Thou wast not worthy to enter in, but didst spend the evening with sinners in the house of Simon the leper: so also didst Thou will to enter into the house of my humble soul, which is leprous and sinful. And even as Thou didst not anoint a like sinner and sinful woman who came and touched Thee: thus also receive me, O Soul, more sinful than she, coming and touching Thee.

And even as Thou didst not cleanse the foul and unclean lips of those who healed Thee: so also may my foul and unclean lips and my defiled and abominable body be cleansed by Thee. But let me be a coal from Thy altar, and the scent of Thy blood in consecration, illumination, health, and the peace of my humble soul and body, in the alleviation of many of my sins, in the keeping of all devilish works, in the quenching and prohibition of my tongue and crafty custom, in the mortification of passions, in the supply of Thy commandments, in the application of Thy divine grace, and of Thy kingdom’s possession. For Thou dost not despise the coming to Thee of Thy people, but daringly relying on Thine ineffable goodness: and may I not be separated from Thy communion by much wandering of thought, as a wolf caught in snares.

Therefore I beseech Thee: O One God, keep my soul and body, heart and bowels, and all of me, renewing me with Thy fear in my hands, making the consecration of Thee unshakable within me. Be Thou my helper and intercessor, feeding me in peace with life, granting me and leading me to Thy holy presence with Thy saints: by Thy prayers and supplications, O most merciful servants and powerful ones, and all saints, who have ever blessed Thee from the ages. Amen.
