Irimos:
By life alone we are saved,
And by death we perish;
For life is from Thee, O Lord,
And death Thou didst suffer for our sake.
Through Thy death, O Master,
The gates of Hades were shattered;
And the powers of the underworld
Were made a spectacle for all.
Thou didst descend into the realm of the dead,
And in Thy might didst break the bonds of Hades;
Thou didst set free those who had been bound by sin,
O Christ, our Righteous One.
Against the commandment unrighteous and lawless, the high flame of the martyr's suffering rose: but Jesus Christ, with divine glory, stretched forth His right hand upon the innocent youth, blessed him, and highly glorified him.
Thou didst not endure to see the suffering of man by death for Thy sake, but Thou hast come and saved us by Thine Blood, having become a Man: Blessed art Thou, O Blessèd Incarnate One, praised be God our Father.
Seeing Thee, O Lord, clothed in the garments of suffering, and more fearfully in the gates of hell: for Thou, O Master, hast come to slay; blessed and highly praised be God our Father.
O Theotokos,
Stárykh stájesh'yu tě́my razúměyem', Ꙇ́kò édín'u rozh'dsh'yu bogá neproménnagho, dvó snékvernaęa, mtí beinevéstnayę: vcálem bo vérnymu istočh'ila ésì netlénye, bžé́stvennym rzhátvom'y tvoýim'.

Irimos:
By life alone we are saved,
And by death destroyed;
For death came to us through a stranger,
But by One from our own creation.
Through Him who was crucified for our salvation,
Let us cry:
Save, O Lord!
By life eternal we are saved,
And by death destroyed;
For death came to us through guile,
But by One who is of our very nature.
Through Him who rose again for our justification,
Let us cry:
Save, O Lord!
O Soul/Spirit, thou art enlightened, most wise of prophets: for with the mouth thou hast glorified God, speaking His holy words: O Eternal Father and our God, Thou art blessed.
Judge the ancient prophet who in the eating of food heard: but by thy will was judged, O Judge of the transgressors, Thou Most Holy Father God, and glorified.
With the tongue of envy, O Soul of the murderer, in free utterance: freely didst thou speak, O Most Holy Father, and art glorified.
Wandering in the chambers of mortality, Thou didst call me to the light, O dark Adversary, by Thy blinding glory, O Most Glorious Father of God, and most praised.

Saw Jacob in the night, as in a vision of God's incarnation, and shone upon him with light singing: Most High Father of God, and highly praised.
Loathsome is he who doth not preach Thy double-edged Sword, the One from Whom proceedeth the Triune God with unshakeable faith, and by His tongue crieth: Eternal Father of God, and highly praised.
