Irimos:
O Lord, our God, in Thy mercy and compassion Thou hast granted us to partake of the divine mysteries; grant also that we may partake of them with purity of heart and mind, for Thou art good and lovest man. Amen.
God's commandment against the unjust condemnation of the martyr was high as a flaming fire: Jesus Christ, with divine glory, rose upon the righteous youth, blessed and highly praised.
Thou didst not endure to see man, for his sinful death, suffer torment, but camest and didst save him by Thy blood: Thou art blessed, O Preserver of our salvation, and glorified be God, the Father of ours.
Seeing Thee, O Lord, clothed in the garments of suffering, Thou didst arouse the gates of hell: for Thou, Master, hast come to slay the madness that tortureth Thy servant; blessed and highly praised be God our Father.
The Theotokos:
Strengthening our understanding by the most holy Spirit, because Thou alone, O God, wast born of the Virgin without blemish, undefiled: Thou hast poured forth upon all the faithful Thy unaging, divine Incarnation.

Irimos:
By life alone we are saved,
And by death destroyed;
For death came to us through a stranger,
But life through our God.
Through Him let us cry to the Lord:
Glory, power, and glory everlasting.
O Thou, most understanding of the prophets, ancient in days: Forasmuch as God hath spoken with our souls by His holy words, through lips have we begun to pray: The Most High Father and our God is blessed.
Judge the ancient prophet who in the eating of food heard obedience: but by His will was judged, releasing from transgression the transgressor, the ever-blessed Father God, and highly praised.
With the tongue of envious speech, O Lord, Thou hast healed the murderer by a free gift: freely didst Thou heal, O Most High Father, and art glorified.
Walking in the chambers of death, Thou didst call me to the light, O dark-adorned hell, by the brilliance enshrouded God, ever-present Father of God, and most glorified.

The irmos of this tone.
Having seen in the night Jacob, as God was incarnate in prophecy, and shone upon thee with light singing: Most Blessed of Fathers, most praised be Thou.
Known are the tokens wherein in thee not spoken manifestation of the unspeakable vision is revealed, as with Jacob doth wrestle: by thy will art thou united with man reading: O Most High Father God, and highly praised.
Loathsome is he who doth not preach Thy double-edged Sword, the One from Whom proceedeth the Triune God with unshakeable faith, and by His tongue crieth: Eternal Father of God, and highly praised.
