Irimos:

By life alone we are saved,
And by death destroyed;
For our life is death to Thee,
And Thy death is life for us.

Through death Thou didst destroy death,
And to those who believe in Thee
Didst grant resurrection from the dead.
Thou art the Life, O Lord,
More radiant than the sun at its noon.

By Thy death, O Lover of Souls,
Thou hast destroyed our death;
By Thy Resurrection, O Giver of Life,
Thou hast raised us up with Thee.

Hast Thou come from the heavens, not by a messenger, nor an angel, but Thyself hast been incarnate, and hast spoken to me all the things concerning man. Therefore call thee: Glory be to thy power, O Lord.

Thou standest before the judgment seat, O my Judge, not crying out to the Master: by Thy own word hast Thou wrought salvation for all the world.

By Thy holy Incarnation, O Enemy hast thou been made a spectacle, and by thy descent into Hell with Thy advent, cities have fallen and the pride of tyrants hath been cast down.

The Theotokos:

Thou, O Theotokos, our steadfast refuge and immovable wall, Lady: by thy prayers thou deliverest our souls from every tribulation.

Irimos:

O Lord, our God, our Helper and Defender,
Thou Who art of one Substance with Thine Only-Begotten Son and Holy Spirit,
Grant us to know Thee as Thou art,
That we may call upon Thee in truth and not in vain.

For Thou art Life itself, and without Thee there is no life;
Thou art the Light that enlighteneth every man that cometh into this world.
Thou art our Guide and our Shepherd, our Rock and our Fortress,
Our Refuge and our Strength, our Shield and our Salvation.

Grant us to see Thee in Thy Glory, O Lord, our God,
That we may be filled with compunction of heart
And not remain in spiritual delusion or self-deception.
For Thou art the Truth, and there is no falsehood before Thee;
Thou art the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Grant us to know Thee as Thou art, O Lord our God,
That we may walk in Thy Commandments with understanding
And not be led astray by the deceptions of this world.
For Thou art the Wisdom that giveth life,
And without Thee there is no true knowledge or wisdom.

Grant us to see Thee in Thy Glory, O Lord, our God,
That we may be filled with the tenderness of heart
And not remain hardened and indifferent to Thy mercies.
For Thou art Merciful and Full of Pity,
And Thy mercy endureth for ever.

Grant us to know Thee as Thou art, O Lord our God,
That we may walk in Thy Commandments with understanding
And not be led astray by the deceptions of this world.
For Thou art the Wisdom that giveth life,
And without Thee there is no true knowledge or wisdom.

O Lord, I have heard Thy glorious vision, and have glorified Thee, O Lover of mankind, Thy incomprehensible power.

Having seen upon the tree nailed thereunto Thy Mother, O ever-blessed and pure, Thou who hast been born without any taint of sin, bearing sorrows beyond all illness.

Death hath been overcome; the grave doth enslave the gates of hell: for all its bonds have been rent asunder, wherefore more than by nature all gifts are given.

And.

Therefore, let us with fear and trembling walk in the way of the Lord, ever mindful of His commandments, that we may attain unto the life eternal. For He saith: "If ye love Me, keep My commandments." Let us therefore cleave to Him with all our heart, for He is our Life and our Salvation. Amen.

All hath exalted the holy mountain of the Lord's house beyond strength, most reverently by God.

Having received the name of blessedness among the natural laws, Thou alone, O Theotokos, having given birth to the Power ruling over all creation, hast been vouchsafed the divine honor.
