O Lord, have mercy on us, O Lord: for all our thoughts are vain and senseless; we offer to Thee this prayer as sinners: have mercy on us.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
O Lord, have mercy on us, because upon Thee we hope: do not be angry with us for our transgressions, but look upon us now with a merciful heart, and deliver us from our enemies: for Thou art God our King, and we Thy people, all our works being by Thine hand, and in Thee we call.
And now and forever.

Amen.
The doors of the sanctuary open to us, O Blessed Theotokos: trusting in Thee that we may not perish, but be delivered through Thee from tribulations: for Thou art the salvation of the race of Christians.

O Lord, have mercy. [v.]

Mercy, O Holy Father, great in glory, to God and His Theotokos:

O Lord, eternal and King of all creation, having deigned to grant me even in this hour to come to repentance, forgive my sins which I have committed today, by deed, word, and thought: and cleanse, O Lord, my humble soul from every stain of body and spirit, and give me, O Lord, a sound sleep this night: that arising from my humbled bed, I may find rest in Thy holy name throughout all the days of my life, and overcome those who war against me, both fleshly and spiritual: and deliver me, O Lord, from thoughts of vain things, defiling me, and from evil desires.

For Thine is the power, and glory, and honour, Father, now and ever, and for ever and ever. Amen.

Mercy, O Antioch, to the Lord our Jesus Christ:

O All-powerful, Word of God, most perfect Son, Jesus Christ, many prayers for me, Thy servant, have never ceased to beseech Thee; but ever abide in me. O Jesus Christ, Good Shepherd of Thy flocks, do not deliver me into the hands of the slanderers and let not the desire of Satan abide in me, since sevenfold within me is it. Thou art invoked by the Lord, holy Jesus Christ, sleeping preserved by an unquenchable light in Thy holy home, to whom Thou didst impart Thy divine knowledge. Give also unto me, unworthy servant of Thine, peace upon my bed: enlighten my soul with Thy light, love my spirit according to Thine own, heart with the words of Thy mouth, body with Thy passionless strength: keep my thoughts by Thy humility, and exalt me in time like unto Thy glorious praise. For Thou art glorified with Thy unbeginning Father, and with Thy holy home for ever. Amen.

Mercy God, to Thy throne:

O Lord, heavenly King, Comforter, O Spirit of Truth, Thou hast shown Thyself to be merciful, and hast pitied me, the sinful servant of Thine; and hast humbled me, unworthy as I am, and hast forgiven all my transgressions, for which I have sinned today, both knowingly and unknowingly, from my youth, and from my knowledge, and also from oppression and deceit. Even if in thought I have blasphemed Thee, or spoken evil of Thee; even if I have wronged anyone, or slandered anyone with anger, or caused sorrow; even if I have been provoked by anything, or lied, or worked without purpose, or was idle when needy came to me, or despised him; even if I have grieved my brother, or his bride, or anyone else whom I judged; even if I have quarreled, or become proud, or angry; even if I have stood in prayer with my sin, and Thou hast moved me by my wickedness of this world; even if I have had evil thoughts, or sinned against Thee, or laughed without cause: even if I have thought wickedly, or seen goodness and envied it, thereby being tempted; even if I have spoken unseemly words, or mocked the sin of my brother, for which I am countless in my transgressions; even if I have not been diligent in prayer, or done anything else wicked, I do not remember: yet all these and more have I done. Forgive me, O Creator, Thou Who art worthy of reverence and unworthy servant of Thine: and leave me, forgive me, and blot out my sins, for Thou art good and Lover of mankind: that I may lie down in peace, sleep and rest, the penitent, sinful and weeping one: and I will prostrate myself, and praise Thee, and glorify Thy most holy Name, with the Father and the Only-Begotten Son, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Mercy, O God, of great and glorious memory:

What hast thou brought, or what wilt thou give, O great-gifted immortal King, most bountiful and loving of souls; for having been idle in thy desire, and doing nothing good, thou hast led me to the end of this day's journey, turning and saving my soul. Be merciful to me, O sinful and naked one, and uncover all my works of righteousness: raise up my fallen soul, defiled by countless sins, and let all my evil thoughts be made visible in this life. Forgive my sins, only sinless One, who sinned today knowingly or unknowingly, by word, deed, thought, and all my feelings. Thou thyself coverest me from every opposing resistance with thine ineffable love, power, and mercy. Purify, O Lord, the multitude of my sins. Willingly grant, O Lord, to deliver me from the net of the wicked one, and save my sinful soul, and enlighten me with the light of thy face: when thou comest in glory. And now let not my sleep be unseasonable, nor without thought; and keep the mind of thy servant undefiled, and all the snares of the devil from me: and enlighten our understanding hearts, that we may not fall into death. Send us an angel of peace, guardian and instructor of soul and body, that he may deliver me from my enemies: when I arise with my spirit, bring to thee thanksgiving prayers. Hear me, O sinful and righteous servant of thy Lord, by will and conscience: give me to learn by thy words, and let the evil spirits be driven far from me by thy angels: and bless thou my standing, and glorify, and praise the most holy Theotokos, who gave us a sinless intercession for the guilty. For we know that thy love follows us, and our prayers do not cease. By this intercession, and this sign of thy mercy, and all thy saints, keep me, O God, with thine immortal soul: for thou art, and art glorified to the ages. Amen.
