O Lord, have mercy on us, O Lord: for all of us are unwise in the knowledge of eternal things; we bring this prayer to Thee, O Master, as sinners. Have mercy on us.
Glory be to Thee, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
O Lord, have mercy on us, for upon Thee we hope: do not be angry with us nor remember our iniquities; but look upon us now with a merciful heart, and deliver us from our enemies: Thou art God our King, and we Thy people, all our works by Thine hand, and to Thee we cry. And now and for ever.

O Lord, eternal and King of all creation, having deigned to come even in this hour, forgive me my sins which I have committed today in deed, word, and thought: and cleanse, O Lord, my humble soul from every stain of body and spirit, and give me, O Lord, a peaceful sleep this night: that arising from my humbled bed, I may find rest and peace in Thy holy name throughout all the days of my life, and overcome those who fight against me, both fleshly and spiritual foes: and deliver me, O Lord, from vain thoughts which defile me, and from evil desires.

O All-powerful Lord, Word of God, most perfect Son, Jesus Christ, many times have I sought mercy from Thee, Thy merciful Heart never failing me, but ever resting in me. O Jesus Christ, Good Shepherd of Thy flocks, deliver me not into the hands of the slanderers and do not abandon me to the desires of Satan, for they abide within me. Thou art invoked by the Lord, holy Theotokos, sleeping yet preserving me with an unquenchable light in Thy holy home, where Thou didst rest as Thy Teacher. Grant also to me, unworthy servant of Thine, peace upon my bed: enlighten my soul with Thy Light, love me with Thy lovingkindness, and with Thy words of truth, cleanse my heart, and with Thy passionless strength, keep my body: preserve my thoughts with Thy humility, and raise me up in time to join Thy glorious hymns for ever. O Lord, heavenly King, Comforter, Spirit of Truth, have mercy on me, a sinful servant of Thine, and forgive me my unworthy state, and blot out all my transgressions, for I have sinned today, more than a man, even as a beast: both voluntary sins and involuntary, known and unknown, from youth to old age, and from the days of my ignorance. Even in name, I have blasphemed Thee; even in thought, I have despised Thee: I have envied, I have grieved, I have troubled, I have been angry, I have lied, I have worked without purpose, I have neglected the needy, I have despised him: I have grieved my brother, I have grieved at weddings, I have judged someone: I have quarreled, I have become proud, I have become angry: I have stood in prayer, by my sin, moved the peace of this world: I have had evil thoughts, I have sinned against Thee, and through them I was pierced with a sword: I have thought wickedly, I have seen goodness as strange, and thereby I was wounded: I have spoken unseemly words, I have mocked my brother's sin, for mine are countless sins: I have not labored in prayer, and even what evil I did, I do not remember: yet all these and greater have I done. Forgive me, O Creator, Thou Who art worthy of mercy, and leave me not, forgive me, as Thou art good and Lover of mankind: that I may lie down in peace, sleep and rest, the penitent, sinful and weeping I am: and I will prostrate myself, and praise Thee, and glorify Thy most holy Name, with the Father and the Only-begotten Son, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. O Thou, who hast brought forth the life eternal, and dost reward with great gifts the immortal King, most bountiful and loving of men, Lord; for having been idle in Thy will, and doing nothing good, Thou didst bring me to the end of this day, turned and saved my soul. Be mindful of me, O sinful and naked one, in all thy works: raise up my fallen soul, defiled by countless sins, and let all my thoughts be visible in this life. Forgive my sins, only sinless One, who didst sin on this day, knowingly or unknowingly, by word, deed, thought, and all my feelings. Thou Thyself coverest me from every opposing resistance with Thine ineffable love and power. Purify, O Lord, the multitude of my sins. Willingly grant me deliverance from the snares of the crafty one, save my sinful soul, and enlighten me with the light of Thy face when Thou comest in glory: and let not my sleep be unseasoned now, nor my thoughts unworthy of Thee; and keep the mind of Thy servant pure, and all the works of Satan from me. Enlighten our understanding hearts, that we may not fall into death. Send us an angel of peace, guardian and instructor of soul and body, that he may save me from my enemies: when I arise with Thee, let me bring to Thee thanksgiving prayers. Hear me, O sinful and blessed servant, by Thy will and conscience: give me understanding through Thy words, and let the evil spirits be driven far from me by Thy angels: and bless Thou my standing, and glorify, praise, and magnify the most holy Theotokos, who gave to us sinners a propitiatory sacrifice, and receive this praying one for us: for we know that Thy lovingkindness never ceaseth. Through this intercession, and by the sign of Thy cross, and all Thy saints, keep Thou my soul, O God, our blessedness for ever. Amen.
