Mercy Thee, Lord, mercy Thee; for by wisdom we have not understood, O sinful ones, this our prayer we bring before Thy Master: mercy Thee, Lord.

Glory: The reading of thy triumph, O Lord, the Church doth show, and the angels rejoice with men. Thou dost sanctify by prayer, in the world orderest our life, that we may sing to thee: Alleluia.

Now: Many of my multitudes, O Theotokos, have sinned more than is fitting: to thee, beseeching, I flee, reading. Visit thy sickly soul, and pray for me to thine own and our God, that He may grant me forgiveness, whereunto I have wrought exceeding evil, alone blessed.

And also, Lord, have mercy, Thee.

And having bowed down with humility and strength of Ephraim:

O Lord and Master of my life, do not give me over to the spirit of vain glory, compunction of heart, beginning and boastfulness. Amen. Bowing down.

Spirit of holiness, spirit of meekness, spirit of patience and love, grant this Thy servant. Bow.

O Lord, King, grant me to see my own transgressions, and let not my brother judge: for thou art blessed unto the ages of ages. Amen. Bow.

Thus we pray this prayer with attention:

O Most Merciful and Full of Compassion Lord,
And Giver of every good and perfect gift, O Lover of mankind,
And O All-holy King of all the ages, Master and Lord,

I, this poor and wretched one, dare to call upon Thy wondrous and fearful, steadfast and holy Name,
Wherewith all thy creatures invoke Thee.

With fear they tremble: From the lowly earth, unutterable was the gaze of Thy wondrous love, O Lord, which Thou didst direct with a look of great tenderness upon Thine beloved Son. From the unfathomable depths of Thy divine glory, with an inextinguishable flame of Thy ineffable goodness, Thou didst kindle Him, that men might be made one with the angels.

Let alone the composition; Thee alone shalt Thou build. O Lord, with Thy holy ones, let my own humility beseech Thee: a captive and a stranger, calling upon the unapproachable light, by the weakness of the flesh encompassed, yet bearing Thy word with compunction of heart, by death I have freed the soul of Thy people from the bondage of the enemy, that we may be fellow-heirs.

All ye who have taken up thy labors in faith of Thy work, shalt thou be made partakers of Thy glory, from which the deceitful Satan hath fallen. Have mercy on me, O enwrapped in thoughts of sin, raise me up with the pierced reed of my wearied heart, and by the strength of unyielding will: strengthen my heart according to Thee.

Grieve not, O my fount of tears, and let the end of my exile from the soul sigh for me, fashioning me blameless as Thy chosen, guiding me with all my heart to Thee. Remember me, O Lord, with Thy mercies, and all my parents with Thy mercy, and all my neighbors, and brethren, and friends.

And my neighbors, and all righteous Christians, save me by your prayers: and receive with honor this my soul and prayer, which I spoke to Thee for myself, and let it not be hateful to Thee with sighs of supplication, as one who prays and lover of mankind, and Thee the beginningless.

Glory be to Thee, with Thy Only-Begotten Son, and with Thy Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
