Mercy Thee, Lord, mercy Thee; for by wisdom we fall short, and this prayer of ours we bring before Thy Master as sinners: mercy Thee, Lord.

Glory: The reading of thy triumph, O Lord, the Church doth show, and the angels rejoice with men. Thou dost pray by thy Martyrs, in the world ordering our life, that we may sing to thee: Alleluia.

And now: Many afflictions have overtaken me, O Theotokos; more than I can bear: to thee, beseeching thy mercy, I flee, reading. Visit my feeble soul and pray for me to thine Son and our God, that He may grant me deliverance, since I have endured much, alone blessed.

And also, Lord, have mercy, Thee.

And having bowed down with a humble heart, Ephraim powerfully and with reverence.

O Lord and Master of my life, do not give me over to the spirit of vain glory, compunction of heart, beginning and empty speech. Amen.bows head.

Spirit of wholehearted obedience, of humility, of patience and love, grant this Thy servant. Bow.

To Thee, O King, grant me to see my own transgressions, and not condemn my brother: for Thou art blessed unto the ages of ages. Amen. Bow.

Thus we pray this prayer with attention:

O Most Merciful and All-Compassionate Lord,
And Giver of every good and perfect gift,
And O Thou, the Venerable One, the Many-named King,
Master and O Lord,

I, who am poor and wretched, dare to call upon Thee,
Whose power encompasses all creatures.

With fear they tremble: From the lowly earth, an unspeakable look of Thy wondrous love was marvelled at by the creature. Thou hast kindled with unseparable divine glory from the depths of Thy own most holy majesty, that men might be together with the angels.

Let alone the composition; let the Lord alone construct it. Pempti, Lord, my humble submission: call me, O Light unapproachable, enfold me with thy weakness, burdened as I am by the flesh, and let thy word, though feeble, bear witness, and by my death I have freed the soul of man from the bondage of the enemy, that we may all be united.

All ye who have taken up the work of thy servant by faith, shall be made partakers of thy glory, from which the deceitful adversary hath fallen. Forgive me, O Enveloped in thoughts of sin, raise me with the thorn of my wearied will to repentance and unyieldingness: strengthen my heart according to thee.

Grieve Thou, O My Fount of Tears, until the end of my life's journey, and make me blameless as Thy chosen one, guiding me with all my heart to Thee. Remember me, O Lord, with Thy merciful heart, and all those near to me, and my brothers, and friends.

And my neighbors, and all righteous Christians, save me by your prayers: and receive with honor this my soul and prayer, which I spoke to thee for myself, and let it not be hateful to thee with sighs of supplication, as one who prays and lover of mankind, and thou, O beginningless.

Glory to Thee, with Thy Only-Begotten Son, and with Thy Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
