Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us, for though we be foolish, we offer thee this prayer as sinners: have mercy on us.
Glory: The reading of thy triumph, O Lord, the Church doth show, and the angels rejoice with men. Thou through prayers livest, in the world thou rulest our life, that we may sing to thee: Alleluia.
Now: Many of my multitudes, O Theotokos, have sinned more than is fitting: to thee, beseeching, I flee, reading. Visit, O Soul, my fainting spirit, and pray for me with thine own and God our Father's mercy, that I may be granted forgiveness, since I have committed the most bitter, yet alone blessed.
Therefore, Lord, have mercy, Thee.
And having bowed down with a humble heart, Ephraim powerfully and with reverence.
O Lord and Master of my life, do not give me over to the spirit of vain glory, nor to foolish talk and boasting. Bowing down.
Spirit of wholehearted obedience, of humility, of patience and love, grant this Thy servant. Bow.
O Lord, our King, grant me to see my own transgressions, and let not my brother judge: for thou art blessed unto the ages of ages. Amen. Bow.
Therefore, let us pray this prayer with attention:
O Most Merciful and All-Compassionate Lord,
And Giver of every good and perfect gift,
And O Thou, Venerable King of all the ages,
Master and Lord,
I, who am poor and wretched, dare to call upon Thee,
Whose power and might encompass all creation.
With fear they tremble: from the lowest earth thou didst not withhold thy unspeakable love-gazing look upon man; by thy beloved Son thou wert revealed. From the unoriginated depths of thine own glory, with ineffable divine radiance thou wast kindled, that men might be made one with the angels.
Let One alone establish. Lord, I beseech Thee, my own humility: call me, O Lord, by Thy unapproachable light, enfolded in the weakness of my flesh, and let Thy merciful word bear me, and by my death I have freed the soul of ours from the bondage of the enemy, that we may be partakers.
All ye who have taken up the work of Thy labor by faith, may they be made worthy of Thine glory, from which the deceitful Satan has fallen. Forgive me, O Enveloped in thoughts of sin, raise me up with the thorn of laziness and the weariness of unyieldingness: strengthen my heart according to Thee.
Grieve Thou, O My Fount of Tears, until the end of my life's journey, and make me blameless as Thy chosen one, guiding me with all my heart to Thee. Remember, O Lord, my parents' mercies and all my near ones, and my brothers, and friends.
And my neighbors, and all righteous Christians, save me by your prayers: and receive with honor the body and blood which I spoke of to thee for thy sake, and be not loath to hear my prayer, because I am a fervent intercessor and lover of mankind, and thou art of unbeginning essence.
Glory be to Thee, with Thy Only-Begotten Son, and with Thy Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
