Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us, for though we are foolish, we bring this prayer to Thee as sinners: have mercy on us.

Glory: The reading of thy triumph, O Lord, the Church doth show, and the angels rejoice with men. Thou dost pray by thy prayers, in peace ordering our life, that we may sing to thee: Alleluia.

Now: Many of my multitudes, O Theotokos, have transgressed: to thee, I flee, beseeching thy peace. Visit my feeble soul and pray for me to thine and our God, that He may grant me forgiveness, since I have committed the most bitter, yet alone blessed.

And also, Lord, have mercy, Thee.

And having bowed down with a humble heart, Ephraim powerfully and with meekness.

O Lord and Master of my life, do not give me over to the spirit of vain glory, tenderness of heart, beginning and boastfulness. Amen. Bowing down.

Spirit of wholehearted obedience, of humility, of patience and love, grant this Thy servant. Bow.

O King, give me to see my own transgressions, and let not my brother judge: for thou art blessed unto the ages of ages. Bow.[1]

Thus we pray this prayer with attention:

O Most Merciful and All-Compassionate Lord,
And Giver of every good and perfect gift,
And O Thou, the Venerable One, the Many-named King,
And O Thou, the Lord, I, though poor and wretched,
Dare to call upon Thee, Whose power all created things adore.

With fear they tremble: from the lowly earth unspeakable was thy wondrous look of love, O Lord, which thou didst behold with a gaze of exceeding affection upon thy beloved Son. From the unoriginated depths of thy most holy glory, with an inextinguishable flame of thine ineffable goodness thou didst kindle him, that men might be made one with the angels.

Let One alone construct. Amen, Lord, my own humility: call me, O Light unapproachable, by the weakness of my body laid low, and with thy merciful word I bear, and by my death have freed the soul of ours from the bondage of the enemy, that we may all be saved.

All ye who have taken up the work of Thy labor by faith, may they be made worthy of Thine glory, from which the deceitful Satan hath fallen. Have mercy on me, O enshrouded in thoughts of sin, raise me up with the pierced Thorn of laziness and unyielding will: strengthen my heart according to Thee.

Grieve not with my fountains of tears, O Lord, from the beginning even to the end of my life. Make me blameless as Thy chosen, guiding me with all my heart unto Thee. Remember, O Lord, my parents and their mercies, and all my kinsfolk, and brethren, and friends.

And my neighbors, and all righteous Christians, save me by your prayers: and receive with honor the body and blood which I spoke of to thee for myself, and be not loath to me with thy prayer, O merciful and loving one, as thou art a praying man and lover of mankind, and thou art from everlasting.

Glory be to Thee, with Thy Only-Begotten Son, and with Thy Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
