Merciful Lord, have mercy on us, for though we are foolish and without understanding, by this our prayer to Thy Master we bring Thee an offering of our sins: have mercy on us.

Glory: The reading of thy triumph, O Lord, the Church doth show, and the saints rejoice with angels. Thou dost pray with us, in the world ordering our life, that we may sing to thee: Alleluia.

Now: Many of my multitudes, O Theotokos, have exceeded measure: to thee, I flee, beseeching thy mercy. Visit my feeble soul and pray for me to thine and our God, that He may grant me forgiveness, since I have endured much, alone blessed.

And also, Lord, have mercy, Thee.

And having bowed down with a humble heart, Ephraim powerfully and with fervor.

O Lord and Master of my life, do not give me over to the spirit of vain glory, compunction of heart, beginning and boastfulness. Amen. Bow.

Spirit of wholehearted obedience, of humility, of patience and love, grant this Thy servant. Bow.

O King, give me to see my own transgressions, and let not my brother judge: for thou art blessed unto the ages of ages. Amen. Bow.

Thus saith the prayer thus with attention:

O Most Merciful and Compassionate Lord,
And Giver of every good and perfect gift,
And O Thou, Venerable One, the All-Holy King,
And Theotokos, Master and Lady,
In Whom I am poor and wretched,
I dare to call upon Thee, Thine ineffable and awesome Name,
Wherewith all Thy creation is filled with Thy divine powers.

With fear they tremble: from the lowly earth unspeakable was the look of Thy wondrous love, O Lord, which Thou didst behold with a marvelling gaze through the sending of Thine beloved Son. From the unoriginated depths of Thy most holy glory, with an inextinguishable flame Thou didst pour forth upon men, that they might be made one with the angels.

Let alone the composition; Thou, O Lord, hast commanded: humble Thyself and call upon the unapproachable Light, with thy weak flesh encumbered, bearing also the word of Thy mouth meekly, and by death Thou hast freed our souls from the bondage of the enemy, that we may be partakers.

All ye who have taken up thy labors in faith of Thy work, shall be made partakers of Thy glory, from which the deceitful Satan hath fallen. Have mercy on me, O enwrapped in thoughts of sin; raise me up with my wounded thorn of laziness and unyielding will: strengthen my heart according to Thee.

Grieve, O my fount of tears, and let the end of my departure be made blameless according to Thy good pleasure, guiding me with all my heart to Thee. Remember, O Lord, my parents with Thy mercy, and all my neighbors, and brethren, and friends.

And my neighbors, and all righteous Christians, save me by your prayers: and receive with honor this my soul and prayer, which I spoke to thee for myself, and let it not be hateful to thee with sighs of supplication, as one who prays and lover of mankind, and thou of the beginningless King.

Glory be to Thee, with Thy Only-Begotten Son, and with Thy Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
