The Twelfth Feasts are of great importance in the spiritual life of a Christian: together with the entire Church we experience the greatness of the celebrated event, all its fullness - first of all in the liturgical life of the Church, but also in our internal and external life, which is inseparable from it. This cannot but affect the basis of the spiritual life of an Orthodox person - the cell prayer rule. The troparion and kontakion of the holiday must certainly include morning and evening prayers; often prayers before a meal are replaced by a troparion, and after a meal by a kontakion of the holiday. According to the direct instructions of the prayer book, the troparion of the holiday is read as part of the Rule for Holy Communion. And, of course, it is not forbidden in cell rule to sing the majesty of the holiday due to such a natural impulse of the soul.
Zadostoynik is the irmos of the ninth song of the canon of the holiday with the refrain, which on all days of the twelfth holiday is sung at the Liturgy instead of (for) “It is worthy to eat.” The Zadostoynik must replace “It is worthy to eat” during this entire period, not only at the Liturgy, but also in every prayer rite, including the cell rule. That is why we include worthy people in our book.
In this section we give very few explanations related to the event of the holiday itself and its theology: such explanations would be too extensive and still insufficient; the essence of each of the great twelve holidays should be learned from other books specially dedicated to them, from the sermons and services of the Orthodox Church.
