Stichos: Vede izděli temnytsi dušu moi, išpovědatisě imeni tvome.

Victory hast Thou, O Christ, over hell,
Whereto Thou didst descend:
That in the darkness of death sitting,
Thou mightest raise us with Thee,
And free them that are in the realm of the dead,
Springing forth life from Thy own light,
All-powerful Saviour, have mercy on us.

To-day Jesus Christ hath overcome death, /
For He said: "I am the Resurrection," /
And the joy of all the worlds is given, /
That all who cry out may sing thus: /
Fount of life, inaccessible light, /
O mighty Saviour, have mercy on us.

Stichos: And from the depths I have cried unto Thee, O Lord, Thou who art heard.

Thou art with Thee, O Lord, in all Thy creatures, / sinful stones we flee; / in Thy heavens Thou livest, / in hell death didst overcome us, / in the depths of the seas; / there Thy hand Master doth reach out. / To Thee we fly, / falling down before Thee we pray: / raise up and have mercy on us who are dead.

And other stichera of the Anawtls, of the same tone.

Stichos: Let thy soul hear my prayer, O Thou that art within the ears of the voice.

By Thy holy and life-giving Incarnation, we glorify Thee, and sing of Thy Resurrection: for Thou art God our King. How can we doubt Thee?

Stichos: If thou beholdest the unrighteous, O Lord, who shall stand before Thee? For Thy holy eyes are ever watchful.

Blessing Thee, O Lord, / we sing the Resurrection of Thee: / for having endured, / Thou hast by death destroyed death.

Stichos: And in the Name of Thee, O Lord, I endured Thee, and my soul endured in Thy Word; my soul trusted in the Lord.

Glory to Thy power, O Lord, / For Thou hast abolished the dominion of death: / Thou hast renewed us by Thy Spirit, / granting unto us life and immortality.

Stichos: By the watches from evening to morning, by the watches of the evening, that I may call upon Jesus Christ.

Thou art laid to rest, O Lord,
by the tongues of the damned that have crushed and rent asunder:
for even by Thy resurrection from the dead hast Thou enlightened the world,
O Lord, glory be to Thee.

And other stichera of the Theotokos, composed by Paul of Amorey, tone 4:

Stichos: As the Spirit crieth with groanings which are not spoken, so also doth the spirit of thy flesh groan within thee, seeking that which is good; but thou art in the bond of sin and the power of evil. Therefore let no man think that he may despise the grace of God, for with much patience hath He given us the Spirit to instruct us in righteousness. For if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him; if we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, He also will deny us; but if we hold fast our integrity and endure unto the end, He will surely keep us, and will give us the kingdom which is promised to them that love Him.

Seeing my bodily weakness, and spiritual suffering, and heart-felt entreaties,
God hath vouchsafed to visit me with His divine mercy, pure and spotless;
Thou, O Holy Spirit, beseech Thee, save me, I pray Thee, with Thy fervent prayers.

Hail Thee, O Lord, all tongues, and praise Him, all peoples.

All hath I passed before Thee, O Lady, by my transgressions:
but cleanse Thou many of these, two in number,
that I may receive Thy mercies, as one praying, be enabled,
in the future judgment to stand before Thine own and God's throne.

Stichos: As though confirmed to pray for us, and truth abideth with Him for ever.

The multitude of my transgressions, O Clean One, call upon me to be cleansed,
And the unceasing movement of my feelings, by the sword of prayer, beseech:
That by faith and love I may sing
Thy seedless grain.

Glory to Thee, and to Thy Son, and to Thy Holy Spirit, both now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

O Theotokos, gladsome voice saith:
Who shall not bless thee, O Conception?
Or who will not sing of thy pure conception?
For from the bosom of the Father
Thou didst receive the single-begotten Spirit,
And thou wast ineffably incarnate,
Becoming in nature God's own Son,
And becoming in nature man for our sake,
Not divided into two persons,
But known to be united in two natures.
Pray therefore, all-holy one,
That the souls of ours may be pitied.

The Wisdom of the Sophronius, Patriarch of Jerusalem.

O silent light of the holy Theotokos,
O immortal, heavenly Lady,
O blessed and glorious Jesus Christ,
Having come at sunset on the west of the sun,
Seeing the evening light,
We sing to Thee, O Lady, God, and Thy Holy One:
Thou art worthy at all times
To be sung by holy lips,
As Thou gavest life:
Therefore let the world glorify Thee.
