Stichos: Lead forth my soul from the prison, that I may confess thy name.
Victory hast Thou, O Christ, over hell,
Whereto Thou didst descend:
That in the darkness of death sitting,
Thou mightest raise us with Thee,
And free them that are bound in the realm of the dead,
Springing forth from Thy own light,
All-powerful Saviour, have mercy on us.
Stichos: They wait for me, O Lord, until Thou shalt render to me according to my works.
Today Jesus Christ hath overcome death, /
For He said, "I am the Resurrection," /
and the joy of all the world is given,
that all who cry out may sing thus: /
"Source of life, inaccessible light, /
O mighty Saviour, have mercy on us."
Stichos: And from the depths I have cried to Thee, O Lord, O Lord, hearken to my voice.
Thou art with Thee, O Lord, in all Thy creatures, / sinful stones we flee; / in Thy heavens Thou livest, / in hell death didst overcome us, / in the depths of the seas; / there Thine hand, Master, reached out. / To Thee we flee, / prostrating ourselves before Thee: / raise up and have mercy on us who are dead.
And other stichera of the Anthonyleptic tone, of the same tone.
Stichos: Let Thy Spirit be in my mouth, speaking all Thy words.
By Thy holy Incarnation, we glorify Thee, and sing of Thy Resurrection and praise: for Thou art God our King. How can it be that we do not know Thee?
Stichos: If thou beholdest the unrighteous, O Lord, who shall abide with him? For thy holy ones are those that have been cleansed by thee.
Blessing Thee, O Lord, we sing the Resurrection of Thee: for Thou hast endured, by death overcoming death.
Stichos: By Thy Name, O Lord, I have endured Thee; my soul hath endured in Thy Word, trusting in the Lord.
Glory to Thy power, O Lord, / For Thou hast vanquished the power of death: / Thou hast renewed us by Thy Spirit, / granting us life and immortality.
Stichos: While keeping watch at midnight, let us cry to Jesus Christ.
Thou art laid to rest, O Lord,
by the tongues of the damned that crushed and rent asunder:
even as by Thy resurrection from the dead Thou didst enlighten the world,
O Lord, glory be to Thee.
And other stichera of the Theotokos, composed by Paul of Amorey, tone 4.
Stichos: As the Spirit crieth, and much deliverance is from Him, and thus He delivereth Israel from all iniquities of her.
Seeing my bodily weakness, and spiritual suffering, and heart-felt entreaties,
God hath vouchsafed to visit me with divine mercy, pure and spotless;
I beseech Thee, through Thy warm prayers, save me.
Stichos: Glorify the Lord all tongues, praise Him all peoples.
I have gone before thee, O Lady, by my transgressions:
but cleanse many of these for me,
that I may receive thy mercies,
and be found worthy in the future judgment with Thy Christ.
Stichos: As thou hast firmly resolved to pray for us, and truth abideth with thee for ever.
The multitude of my transgressions, O Pure One, call me to cleanse thee,
And the unceasing movement of my feelings, by the sword of prayer, beseech:
That by faith and love I may sing
Thy seedless wheat.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, and now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
O Theotokos, the Gloria begins:
Who shall not bless thee, O Conception?
Or who shall not sing of thy conception by the Holy Spirit?
For from thine eternal Father thou didst receive the uncreated Spirit,
And through thee, O Conception, that ineffable Incarnation took place,
Becoming God in nature,
And becoming man for our sake,
Not divided into two persons,
But known to be united in two natures.
Pray for us, all-holy,
That the souls of ours may be saved.
The Wisdom of the Sophronius, Patriarch of Jerusalem.
O silent light of the holy glory,
O immortal, O heavenly Father,
O holy and blessed Jesus Christ,
Having come to the west of the sun,
Seeing the evening light,
We sing Thee, God, Spirit, and King,
Worthy art Thou at all times
To be sung by the holy lips,
As Giver of life:
Therefore let the world glorify Thee.
