And now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen. Soul, repent before your departure, / the judgment of sinners is unwashed and intolerable. / Cry out to the Lord with tenderness of heart: / You have sinned in knowledge and in ignorance, O Generous One, / through the prayers of the Mother of God, spare me and save me.
And now: Soul, repent before your departure, / the judgment is incorruptible for sinners and unbearable. / Cry out to the Lord in contrition of heart: / “I have sinned before You, O Merciful One, in knowledge and ignorance; / through the prayers of the Mother of God, have mercy and save me!”
Lord, have mercy (40) and prayer:
Lord, have mercy (40) and prayer:
To You, Lord, the only Good and Unforgettable Evil One, I confess my sins, I fall down crying to You, unworthy: I have sinned, Lord, I have sinned and am not worthy to look up to the heights of heaven from my many untruths. But, my Lord, Lord, grant me tears of tenderness, the only One who is Blessed and Merciful, as I beg You with them to be cleansed before the end from all sin: it is a terrible and menacing place The imam will go away, the bodies will be separated, and a multitude of gloomy and inhuman demons will be buried in me, and no one will help or deliver me. Thus I bow to Your goodness, do not betray me to those who offend me, below let my enemies boast about me, Good Lord, below let them say: You came into our hands, and You were betrayed to us. Neither, Lord, do not forget Your bounties and do not repay me for my iniquities, and do not turn Your face away from me: but You, Lord, punish me, both with mercy and bounty.
Let my enemy not rejoice over me, but extinguish his reproaches against me and abolish all his activities, and give me a reproachful path to You, Good Lord: even though I have sinned, I have not resorted to another doctor, and I have stretched out my hands to a strange god, do not deny my prayer, but hear me with Your goodness and strengthen my heart with Your fear, and may Your grace be upon me, Lord, Like a fire that burns up the unclean thoughts in me. For you are, Lord, light, more than any light; joy, more than any joy; repose, more than any repose; true life and salvation that endures forever and ever, amen. To You, Lord, the Only Good One who does not remember evil, I confess my sins. I fall to You, unworthy, crying out: “I have sinned, Lord, I have sinned and am not worthy to look upon the heights of heaven because of the multitude of my iniquities.” But, my Lord, Lord, grant me tears of tenderness, O One Good and Merciful, so that with them I may beg You and be cleansed before the end from all sin.
For I will have to go through a terrible and formidable place after being separated from my body, and many gloomy and inhuman demons will meet me, and there will be no one to help: neither a companion nor a deliverer. Therefore, I fall to Your goodness: do not betray me to my offenders, and let not my enemies boast about me, Good Lord, and let them not say: “You have fallen into our hands and been betrayed to us.” No, Lord, do not forget Your mercies and do not repay me according to my iniquities, and do not turn Your face away from me. But You Yourself enlighten me, Lord, only with mercy and compassion. Let my enemy not rejoice over me, but extinguish his threats against me and abolish all his actions. Grant me an impeccable path to You, Good Lord, because even having sinned, I did not resort to another doctor and did not stretch out my hand to a foreign god. Do not reject my prayer, but hear me according to Your goodness and strengthen my heart with Your fear, and may Your grace be upon me, Lord, like a fire that burns unclean thoughts in me.
For You, Lord, are the Light, the highest of all light; Joy is beyond all joy; Peace is beyond all peace; True life and Salvation that endures forever and ever. Amen.

Psalm 32
Psalm to David, not inscribed among the Jews.
Psalm of David, not inscribed among the Jews, 32.
Rejoice in the Lord, O righteousness; praise is due to the upright. Confess to the Lord with the harp, and sing to Him with the ten-stringed psalter. Sing a new song to Him, sing well to Him, shouting: For the word of the Lord is right, and all His works are in faith. The Lord loves alms and justice; the earth is filled with the mercies of the Lord. By the word of the Lord the heavens were established, and by the spirit of his mouth was all their power. Gather it like a skin of the water of the sea, and place it in the treasures of the abyss. Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all who live throughout the world move from Unworthiness. As He spoke, and was, He commanded, and was created. The Lord destroys the councils of nations, sweeps away the thoughts of people, and sweeps away the councils of princes. But the counsel of the Lord endures forever, the thoughts of His heart to generation and generation. Blessed is the tongue, for it is the Lord his God, the people whom he has chosen as his inheritance. The Lord looked down from heaven and saw all the sons of men. From His prepared dwelling He has looked upon all who dwell on the earth. Having created their hearts as one, you meant for all their deeds.
A king cannot be saved by the abundance of his strength, and a giant cannot be saved by the abundance of his strength. A horse lies for salvation, but in the abundance of its strength it cannot be saved. Behold the eyes of the Lord are upon those who fear Him, trusting in His mercy. Deliver their souls from death and feed them into famine. Our soul longs for the Lord, for He is our helper and protector. For in Him our hearts will rejoice, and in His holy name we trust. May Thy mercy be upon us, Lord, as we trust in Thee. Rejoice, ye righteous ones, in the Lord! It is fitting for the upright to praise Him. Glorify the Lord on the harp, sing to Him on the ten-stringed psalter! Sing a new song to Him, sing harmoniously to Him in rejoicing! For the word of the Lord is true, and all His works must be believed. The Lord loves merciful judgment, the earth is filled with the mercy of the Lord. By the word of the Lord the heavens were established, and by the Spirit of His mouth was all their strength. He collects the waters of the sea as if in bottles, and imprisons the abysses of waters in storehouses. May all the earth fear the Lord, and may all who live in the universe tremble before Him! For He spoke, and they came into existence; He commanded and they were created.
The Lord rejects the plans of nations, rejects the plans of men, rejects the plans of princes. The counsel of the Lord endures forever, the thoughts of His heart are true from generation to generation. Blessed are the people who honor the Lord as their God, the people whom He has chosen as His own. The Lord looked down from Heaven and saw all the sons of men; From His eternal abode He looked upon all those living on earth; He who created their hearts as the only ones in the world understands all their deeds. His great army will not save the king, and his great strength will not save the giant. The horse is unreliable for salvation; its great strength will not save the king. The gaze of the Lord is fixed on those who fear Him, who trust in His mercy, May He deliver their souls from death and nourish them in the days of famine. Our soul trusts in the Lord, for He is the Giver of help and our Protector. Our hearts will rejoice in Him; we trust in His holy name. May Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, for we trust in You!
