Life in the grave lay prostrate, and the seal upon the stone was placed:
For when the King slept, the invisible warrior of the enemy watched over Jesus,
and smote him unseen, raising the Lord forthwith.

Stichos: And I will confess to Thee, O Lord, with all my heart, and I will proclaim all Thy wonders.

Thou prescribest the grave for Thyself, O One; and Symeon saith the resurrection of the divine, immortal soul: Thou didst descend indeed as dead into the grave, breaking the gates of Hades. And Thou hast risen apart from corruption, O Master, in the salvation of the world, Thou dost glorify our God, having enlightened them that were in darkness.

Glory to Thee, O God, and to Thy Christ, and to Thy Holy Spirit, both now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

O Theotokos: O Lord, save us, / by the will of Him who was nailed upon the cross, / and raised up Jesus Christ our King from the dead, / deliver our souls.

O Lord, have mercy, Amen.

Glory to Thee, O God, and to Thy Christ, and to Thy Holy Spirit, both now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

And let us sing a hymn: Glory to Thee, O Lord, and to Thee, Christ.
