Life in the grave layeth, and the seal upon the stone was set:
For when the King slept, the holy warriors watched over Jesus,
and the invisible foe smote them, but the Lord arose.

Thou prescribest the grave for Thyself, O One; and Symeon saith the resurrection of the divine, immortal Life, saying to the Lord:
Thou didst descend while dead into the grave, breaking the gates of hell.
And Thou didst rise again beyond corruption, as Master,
For the salvation of the world, Thou hast enlightened our God.
Shining forth in darkness, Thou hast revealed Thyself to those who dwell in it.

Glory to Thee, O God, and to Thy Christ, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

O Theotokos: Lord God, have mercy on us.
Into Thy hands I commend my spirit:
For Thou hast willed it by the will of Him who was nailed upon the cross,
And who raised Jesus Christ our King from the dead:
May our souls be saved through Thee.

O Lord, have mercy, Amen.

Glory to Thee, and to Thy Son, and to Thy Holy Spirit, both now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

And let us sing a hymn: Glory to Thee, O Lord, and to Thee, Christ.
