Живо́тъ во гро́бѣ возлежа́ше, и҆ печа́ть на ка́мени надлежа́ше: / ꙗ҆́кѡ цр҃ѧ̀ спѧ́ща во́ини стрежа́хꙋ хрⷭ҇та̀, / и҆ врагѝ своѧ̑ неви́димѡ порази́вый, воскр҃се гдⷭ҇ь.
Life in the grave lay, and the seal upon the stone was set:
For the King slept, the Watchmen of the Kingdom keeping watch for Jesus Christ,
and the invisible enemy smote his foes, raising up the Lord.
Сті́хъ: И҆сповѣ́мсѧ тебѣ̀ гдⷭ҇и, всѣ́мъ се́рдцемъ мои́мъ, повѣ́мъ всѧ̑ чꙋдеса̀ твоѧ̑.
Stichos: And I will confess to Thee, O Lord, with all my heart, and I will proclaim all Thy wonders.
Преднаписꙋ́етъ і҆ѡ́на гро́бъ тво́й, / и҆ сказꙋ́етъ сѷмеѡ́нъ воста́нїе бж҃е́ственное, безсме́ртне гдⷭ҇и: / соше́лъ бо є҆сѝ ꙗ҆́кѡ ме́ртвъ во гро́бъ, разрꙋши́вый а҆́дѡва врата̀. / воскрⷭ҇лъ же є҆сѝ кромѣ̀ тлѣ́нїѧ ꙗ҆́кѡ влⷣка, / во сп҃се́нїе мі́ра, хрⷭ҇тѐ бж҃е на́шъ, / просвѣти́вый сꙋ́щыѧ во тьмѣ̀.
Thou prescribest the grave for Thyself, O One; and Symeon saith the resurrection of the divine, immortal Lord: Thou didst descend as though dead into the grave, breaking the gates of hell. And Thou hast risen apart from corruption, O Master, in the salvation of the world, Thou dost glorify our God, enlightening them that are in darkness.

O Theotokos: Lord God, have mercy on us,
Who by Thy will wast nailed to the cross,
And raised up Jesus Christ our King from the dead,
Save our souls.

O Lord, have mercy, Amen.
