Lorsque le tombeau fut ouvert et que celui qui pleurait s'en trouvait, / la voix de la mort cria aux couverts par l'Apôtre : / "Sortez, vous qui faites naître les vignobles, / prêchez le discours de la résurrection : / ressuscitez, Seigneur, et donnez une grande bénédiction à la terre."

I love thee, O Lord, my stronghold: thou art the strength of my confidence, and my refuge, and my deliverer, God my Saviour, my Helper, on whom I rely: my defender, and the horn of my salvation, and my advocate. I invoke Thee from on high and from the hands of my enemies for deliverance. Thou didst sustain me in my sicknesses, and healed me of my transgressions: the sicknesses of hell have plagued me, they have encompassed me with snares of death.
And when I was troubled, I called upon Thee and cried to Thy holy temple: from the sanctuary of Thine own holiness heardst Thou my voice, and my cry came before Thee. And the earth moved and trembled, and its foundations were shaken and quaked, for wrath had come upon it against Thee.
A smoke went up in anger, and fire from the face of Thee was kindled: the flames blazed forth from Thee. Thou didst bow down heaven, and it came down; darkness covered Thy feet. And Thou wentest on to the cherubim, and flew on the wings of a whirlwind.
Thou didst lay upon them a covering of Thy own: the moon was hidden by Thy light: darkness in the clouds of the air. From the brightness before Thee the clouds passed away; the city and the flames of fire. Thou didst thunder from heaven, and the voice of Thy power came forth. Thou didst send arrows and scattered them, and multiplied the mists and smote them.
And Thou openedst up fountains of living waters, and loosedst the foundations of the earth from its bonds, O Lord, from the inspiration of Thine angry Spirit. From heights Thou didst pour down comfort on me, and I received it from many waters. Thou didst preserve me from strong enemies and from those who hated me: for Thou art stronger than them.
Thou didst precede me in the day of my affliction, and Thou becamest my strength. Thou didst lead me to broad places: Thou didst preserve me as I desired. And Thou shalt reward me according to my righteousness, and according to the cleanness of my hands before Thee, for I have kept Thy ways and have not been unrighteous from My God.
For all the judgments of Thee are before me, and the righteousness of Thee has not failed me. And I shall be blameless with Thee and keep myself from the transgressions of my own people. And Thou shalt reward me according to my righteousness and the cleanness of my hands before Thy eyes. With the Venerable thou shalt be Venerable, and with the innocent thou shalt be Innocent, and with the chosen thou shalt be Chosen, and with the rebellious thou shalt make them drunk.
For Thou hast delivered men of lowly spirit and humbled the proud. For Thou hast enlightened my lamp, O Lord: my God, Thou hast enlightened my darkness. For by Thee I am saved from temptation, and through My God I have passed the wall.
My God, a blameless path is Thine: Thy words are kindled like a fire. A defender of all who rely on Thee. For who is God but Thee; or who is God except our God? Thou hast strengthened me with power, and laid a blameless path before me: as the sun, Thou hast taught my hands for battle, and Thou didst put a golden bow in mine arm: and Thou gavest me defence of salvation, and Thy right hand received me. And Thy chastisement shall correct me at the end, and Thy chastisement will instruct me.
Thou didst enlarge my steps under me, and I was not faint-hearted. Thou didst smite my enemies, and overtook them, until they were consumed: I mourned for them, and they could not stand before my feet. And Thou didst strengthen me with power in battle, and Thou didst slay all who rose up against me beneath me. And Thou gavest me the back of my enemies and hast delivered those who hated me.
Thou didst not save them, for to Thee they cried but heard them not. And Thou didst deliver me from the quarrels of men: Thou didst set me at the head of tongues: people whom I knew not worked for me, in the hearing of Thy ear they hearkened to me. Sons of strangers lied against me, sons of strangers swore and defiled their own paths.
Living is the Lord, blessed be He, and let the Lord lift up my salvation, the Lord giving rest to me and making men bow down under me, my deliverer from the wrathful enemies of mine: from those who rose up against me Thou didst exalt me, and from the unjust man Thou didst save me. For this I will confess Thee in tongues, O Lord, and praise Thy name for evermore.
