When the tomb was opened and found weeping, /
The Resurrection cried out to those hidden by the Apostle: /
"Bring forth the vineyard's maker, / Preach the word of the resurrection: / Rise, O Lord, giving the world great mercy."

O Lord, standing before thy grave, Magdalene weeps, beseeching the governor thereof:
Where didst thou hide the eternal life;
Where didst thou lay it, upon the table of cherubim?
For keeping watch over this, they have fallen asleep through fear.
Give me also, O Lord, to cry with thee:
Even as in the dead, so from the dead I have risen, glory be to thee.

I love Thee, O Lord, my stronghold: Thou art the strength of my heart, and my refuge, and my fortress, and my deliverer, God my Saviour, my Helper, to whom I cry for help: The Defender, and the horn of my salvation, and my protector. I will invoke Thee from the heights; I will call upon Thee against my enemies, and Thou wilt hear me out of Thy holy temple, and my prayer before Thee shall enter into Thine ears. And the earth shall tremble, and the foundations of the mountains shall be moved, because Thou art angry with them, O God. Smoke went up from His anger, and fire was kindled from the presence of His face: Flames were kindled from Him. He bowed down the heavens, and they came down; darkness was under His feet. He ascended on the cherubim, and flew on the wings of the wind. He made a cloud to cover Himself: He made the skies themselves shine out: Darkness was upon the waters in the clouds above. From the brightness before Him the clouds passed away, the city and the flames of fire. And He thundered with His high voice; and from heaven He gave forth His voice. He sent arrows and destroyed them, and lightning multiplied and smote them. And He opened up fountains of water, and the foundations of the earth were uncovered: O Lord, from the inspiration of Thy wrath. He sent down from above and refreshed me, took me out of many waters. He delivered me from strong enemies and from those who hated me: for Thou art stronger than I am. He led me in the day of my affliction; and Thou wast made my strength. And He brought me to broad places: He delivered me, as I desired. And He will reward me according to my righteousness, and according to the cleanness of my hands before Thee. For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not sinned against Thy Holy One. For all the judgments of God are before me, and the righteousness of the Lord has not failed from me. And I will be blameless with Him, and keep myself from sin. And He will reward me according to my righteousness, and according to the cleanness of my hands before Thee. Thou shalt be as a venerated one with a venerated one: and as an innocent man thou shalt be innocent; and as a chosen one thou shalt be chosen, and as a rebellious one thou shalt be corrupted. For Thou hast delivered men of lowly spirit from the hand of the proud. For Thou hast enlightened my lamp, O Lord: My God, Thou hast enlightened my darkness. For by Thee I am delivered from temptation, and by Thy Holy One I have passed through the wall. O God, my path is blameless: Thy words are kindled like a fire. He is the Saviour of all who hope in Him. Who is God but God; and who is God save our God? God girded me with strength for battle, and laid down a blameless path before me: as an olive tree, and set me on high: teaching my hands to fight, and placed a golden bow in mine arm: and gave me the protection of salvation, and Thy right hand took me up: and Thy chastisement shall correct me at the end, and Thy chastisement will instruct me. Thou didst enlarge my steps under me, and I was not faint-hearted. I have overcome my enemies, and they have been taken, until they are consumed: I have afflicted them, and they could not stand before my feet. And Thou hast given me strength for battle, Thou hast slept upon all that rose up against me beneath me. And Thou hast given to me the back of my enemies, and those who hated me Thou hast consumed. Thou didst call, but there was no deliverance: to Thee I cried, and Thou didst not hear them. As dust before the face of a wind, as chaff that is carried away by the way. Thou hast delivered me from the quarrels of men: Thou hast set me at the head of tongues: men whom I knew not worked for me, in the hearing of Thy mouth they obeyed me. Sons of strangers lied to me, sons of strangers swore and defiled their own paths. He is alive, O Lord, and blessed be God; and let God lift up my salvation, God giving remission to me and making men subject under me, my deliverer from the wrathful enemies: from those who rose against me Thou hast exalted me, from a man unjust Thou hast delivered me. For this cause I will confess Thee in my prayers, O Lord, and praise Thy name: magnifying salvation of the King and creating Myriads for Christ His seed to the age.
