Yirmós: Life's Sea / uplifted by the tempest of perils, / to thy calm harbor I now come: / raise up from death my life, O Much-After-Prayed-To.

Master, pierced with nails and by the spear,
Thou didst invoke a curse upon us:
With the lance we were pierced in the side,
Adam's written sentence thou didst tear asunder, freeing the world.
Vespers: Glory to Thee, O Lord, for Thy resurrection.
When he descended, by deceit having entered, into the depths of hell:
But being in very nature God, and also of a virgin born,
he went down to seek, and upon the rim carried thee, raising thee from the dead.

Theotokos: Praising the Lady,
Who gave birth to the Rudder of mankind,
Soothe with unceasing and bitter compunction my passions,
And grant me tranquility in my heart.

The Saviour and the Prophets-killer was the Jewish multitude:
For the prophets of old, being true to the truth, could not kill those who shone with hidden mysteries:
Even so now, He whom we preached then,
were drawn by envy to kill Him.
But unto us is given a life made death.
Pripev: Glory to Thee, O Lord, by Thy gracious will and resurrection.
There was a death, but not held captive in the grave;
for though thou didst taste the word of death by thy will,
yet wast thou raised again because God is without death,
having raised up the prisoners that were in hades,
and joy instead of former grief, having again changed it.
Pripev: Presvyatie Theotokos, spas'i nas.
Theotokos: Disgraceful is thy and meagre appearance in the bodily vision / more than of men, in the time of passion: / for by thy divinity, thou wast shown beautiful by goodness; / but with thy rod of thy kingdom thou didst smite the strength of thine enemies, speaking thus: / From my dust and from the grave arise.
In. Chorus: Having lifted up the Theotokos, save us.
Great was the forewriting in the prophesies of Moses, / concerning the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the rod, / adorned with signs denoting the Incarnation, / which came from Thee, O Thou of heights, two-fold.
Glory to Thee, and to Thy Son, and to Thy Holy Spirit.
Death doth wither, and corruption exerciseth Adam's condemnation, O Lady!
The fruit of thy travail hath been brought forth:
For life thou didst bear,
From corruption freeing them that sing to thee.
And now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Law and commandment weakened, and sorrow went over me, /
more than a woman with the pangs of a great mercy, /
which Thou hast twofold wrought, /
O God, and Saviour, much-praised.
Blessed be the Godhead and Most Honored,
Celebrating the feast,
By the God's wisdom, come with your hands to praise,
From not having been born, glorify Him who was born of Theotokos.
O Lord, have mercy. [Three times.]
By the prayers of our holy Mother, O Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on us, Amen.
