Let us fall into the last abyss, and there be none to deliver us; we have fallen prostrate as sheep, O Lord our God: for thou art the strength of the feeble and the correction.
Through the sin of the unmade Adam, O Lord, we have incurred a bitter enmity; but by Thy early healing, Thou hast healed us, for whom Thou didst bear our enmity: for Thou art the strength of the weak and the correction thereof.
O Theotokos,
Rejoice with Thee, O Lord, two generations of our forefathers, who have eaten Thy wheat, by whose transgression they are destroyed: for Thou art a sower, and before the sowing, and from the sowing.
And Iirmos: From the bowels of her, O Theotokos.
Falleth man deceived, and mourning smiteth himself, hoping in the hope that was before his justification: but riseth by the union of the word justified, and by passion receiveth without passion, for on the throne shall he be glorified, sitting with the Father and the Spirit.
O Theotokos,
Not shall the depths depart from their Creator, in the depths dwelling doth the Virgin Mother re-establish, and it cometh to pass, that which before was without mother, without father made flesh, and by righteousness doth bear God: this is a fearful birth not spake of, and unutterable.
And Irmos: Have mercy on us:
Before the heavenly servants of thy mystery, bowing in reverence to thy ever immaculate Conception: for thou didst read, and before the reading, and by the reading.
Be dead, O Enemy, by the life-giving fruit of God's mercy: and be manifested, O Hell, and in whom we have been set free. Therefore I cry: O Sufferings, break the hearts of mine.
