Glory to Thee, O Lord, glory to Thee! For Thou art life (жизнь) and we have no life (жизни) unless it be from Thee; Thou art the light of our eyes (глаза), and in darkness we see nothing. Glory to Thee, O Lord, glory to Thee!

Let us fall into the last abyss, there being none to deliver us; we have fallen prostrate as sheep, O Lord our God: save Thy people, for Thou art the strength of the weak and the correction thereof.

By the sin of the uncreated Word of God, we have become bitter enemies; but by Thy early healing, O Lord, Thou hast healed us, for whom Thou didst suffer enmity: for Thou art the strength of the feeble and the correction.

Exalted hath Thou, O Lord, from the abyss, the slayer of all, mighty in power, by Thy authority didst Thou subdue his strength: for Thou art life, and light, and resurrection.

O Theotokos,

Rejoice with Thee, O Lord, two generations of our forefathers, who have eaten of Thy wheat and by their transgression have destroyed it: for Thou art the wheat, and before Thee was the harvest, and from the harvest wast Thou.

And Irmos: From the bowels of Him:

Falling into spiritual deception, Adam, groaning, is crushed; hoping in the ancient confession of faith: but he rises by the union of the holy word, and in passion receives the impassible, to be glorified on the throne with the Father and the Spirit.

O Theotokos,

From the unfathomable depths doth not depart the unoriginated Parent, in those depths the Virgin Mother is established, and where before without a Mother, without a Father, She was incarnate by the very truth bearing God: this birth is terrible and unspeakable.

And Irmos: Have mercy on us:

Servants of the Lord stand before Thy mystery, O heavenly, marveling at Thy pure and ever-virgin Birth: for Thou didst read, even before the mystery itself, and by it wast Thou made manifest.

Thou didst become Incarnate before the ages, Word proceeding from Thee by Thy Will, creating all things by Thy power, bringing forth without a body the immortals from non-existence, for Thou art All-powerful.

Be thou slain, O Enemy, by the fruit of Thy life-giving Incarnation, O God-blessed One; and let it be manifest, O Adversary, that we have been set at liberty from thy bonds. Therefore I cry: Break, O passions, the heart of my soul.
