Glory to Thee, O Lord, glory to Thee! For Thou art life (живот) from all eternity; Thou art the beginning and the end of every creature (тварь), the first and the last. Glory to Thee, O Lord, glory to Thee!

O having us for the last abyss, there is none to deliver us; we have fallen prostrate as sheep, O People of Thy people, God our King: for Thou art the strength of the feeble and the correction.

By the sin of the uncreated Word of God, we have become fierce and cruel; but by Thy early healing, O Lord, Thou hast healed us, for whom Thou didst suffer cruelly: for Thou art the strength of the weak and the correction thereof.

Exalted hath Thou, O Lord, from the grave, the One Who slew all-devouring Death, with Thy mighty power Thou didst subdue His strength: for Thou art Life, and Light, and Resurrection.

O Theotokos,

Rejoice with Thee, O Lord, two generations of our forefathers, who have received Thy wheat and by their transgression have destroyed it: for Thou art the Wheat, and before Thee was the harvest, and from the harvest Thou art.

And in the morning of His life:

Falling into spiritual deception, Adam, groaning and sighing, is crushed; hoping in the ancient confession of faith: but he rises by the union of the holy word, and by passionless suffering receives it, for on the throne shall he be glorified, sitting with the Father and the Spirit.

O Theotokos,

From the depths hath not departed the unoriginated Father, in the depths dwelling doth He establish the Virgin's offspring, and wherefore before motherless, without a father, is He made incarnate, and by righteousness doth He bear witness to God: this wondrous birth, this ineffable generation.

And Irmos: Let us stand.

Servants of the Lord stand before Thy holy mystery, marvelling at Thy pure and ever-virgin Conception: for Thou didst receive the gift, even before the gift, and by the gift.

Thou didst become Incarnate before the ages, Word proceeding from Thee by Thy Will, creating all things by Thy power, bringing forth without body the hosts of immortals from non-existence, for Thou art All-powerful.

Be thou slain, O Enemy, by the fruit of Thy life-giving Incarnation, O God-blessed One; and let the Adversary be uncovered, and in whom we have been set free. Therefore I cry: O Breaker of the heart's passions.
