Glory to Thee, O Lord, glory to Thee! For Thou art life (жизнь) and we are in death; Thou art light (свет) and we walk in darkness; Thou art truth (истина) and we speak lies (ложь). We thank Thee not as is meet (како бы справедливо), but because of Thy mercy (милости); for without Thee, O Lord, there is no good thing (ничто доброе) in us.
O One, who knowest the weakness of all human creatures and mercifully didst imagine within me, by Thy power from on high, that I might cry to Thee: Enlivened Temple, Thou hast not uttered the unspeakable glory of Thine, O Lover of Mankind.
God Thy Son is nearer to me than my life, who hast pitied the fallen and raised him up, and brought me nigh unto Thee by Thy willful passion, lifting me up on the Cross, O Lover of mankind: in the Temple alive Thou hast uttered not thy unspeakable glory, O Lover of man.
Life eternal, Thee hath God Thy Father mercifully begotten, in having been wearied Me, as Thou art compassionate God, into the breast of death didst descend; with death's power didst thou shatter it, and by thy death death's authority didst destroy. And for three days didst Thou remain dead, and in incorruptibility didst clothe Me.
O Theotokos,
God, having willed in the womb to double, by the Holy Spirit, didst remain unsullied, because thou, O purchased one by Moses' law, wast made sullied by no defilement, though foretelling a consuming fire, didst receive it unsparingly.
And Irmos: Before the ages from the Father:
Who, having taken the erring soul on His own shoulder and humbled it with wood, bore its sin to God in prayer: Raising up our horn, Thou art the Holy One, O Lord.
Exalted be the Pastor great from hell, Jesus Christ, and with the Holy Spirit and the holy Uncreated Essence of His Divinity, we truly and devoutly believing hearts serve Him.
O Theotokos,
Who from the two-fold Incarnation without seed by the will of the Spirit, and born according to the Spirit's power, keepeth both unharmed, and unto all God we cry: Holy art Thou, O Lord.
And only Thou knowest:
O cloud light and true, following prophesied words: for behold, upon thee the Lord will bring down Egypt's delusion by his hand, and enlighten them who serve.
Thou sealed icon truly prophetic and fount of grace, and the door sealed named the purity of thy virginity, writing to us its holy tokens: wherefore didst thou keep it even in travail.
