Wisdom is sung in the course, but boldness leads in the hundred. On the edges of the walls he preaches, at the gates of the mighty he crouches, and at the gates of the city those who dare speak. As long as the time of innocence adheres to the truth, they will not be ashamed: but madness, vexation is a desire, wickedness has been hated by feelings, and guilt has been reproached. Behold, I will offer you a saying from my breath: I will teach you my words. I called loudly, and did not listen, and extended my words, and did not heed, but swept away my advice, and did not heed my reproof. For I will laugh at your destruction, but I will rejoice when destruction comes to you. And when rebellion suddenly comes upon you, destruction comes like a storm: either sadness and destruction of the city will come to you, or destruction will come upon you. It will happen that when you call me, I will not listen to you: the evil ones will seek me and will not find me. For I hated wisdom and did not accept the word of the Lord, I wanted to listen to my advice, but I cursed at my reproof.

In the same way they will eat the fruits of their ways, and will be satisfied with their wickedness. For if the infants are harmed, there will be murders, and the torture will destroy the wicked. But he who listens to me will dwell in hope and rest without fear from all evil.

Reading the Book of Proverbs [1, 20–33]

Wisdom is sung in the streets, she speaks boldly in the squares. He preaches at the edges of the city walls, sits at the gates of the rulers, and at the gates of the city he boldly says: “As long as the innocent live in righteousness, they will not be ashamed; The madmen, those who love violence, and the wicked hated knowledge and therefore deserved accusation. Here I will give you speech with my breath, I will give you my word, since I called and you did not listen; continued her speeches and you did not listen, but you rejected my advice, you did not heed my reproofs. Therefore, I will laugh at your death, and I will rejoice when destruction comes to you. And when rebellion suddenly overtakes you, a terrible disaster will come, like a storm; when sorrow and oppression come to you, then you will call me - and I will not hear you; The evil ones will look for me and will not find me. Because they hated wisdom and did not accept the fear of the Lord, they did not want to heed my advice, and they ridiculed my reproofs.

Therefore they will eat the fruits of their way and be satisfied with their wickedness. Since they offended infants, they will be killed and the punishment of God will destroy the wicked. He who listens to me will live in hope and peace, not fearing any evil.”

δˊ.

Let us not just fast for the shame of brushes, but for the alienation of all material passions: so that, having enslaved the tormenting flesh upon us, we may be worthy of communion, the Lamb slain for peace by the will of the Son God, and spiritually celebrate the Resurrection of the Savior from the dead: soaring to the heights of virtues, in the lightness and enjoyment of fair deeds, joyful to the Lover of Mankind. (Twice)

Let us fast not only by abstaining from food, but by removing ourselves from all material passions: yes, having subdued the flesh, which tyrannically controls us, we will be rewarded with communion, by our own will, for the world of the slain Lamb - the Son of God and, being raised to a virtuous height, rejoicing in the radiance and enjoyment of the wonderful deeds of the Lover of Mankind, we will spiritually celebrate the Resurrection of the Savior from the dead! (Twice)

(Δίς)

Martyred: Thy martyrs, Lord, who forgot their existence in life, who were careless about torment, who were to come for the sake of life, sowing heirs appeared. The Angels also rejoice; through their prayers grant Your people great mercy.

Martyred. Your martyrs, Lord, having forgotten everything that exists in this life and despising torment for the sake of the future life, have become its heirs, therefore they rejoice along with the angels. At their earnest request, grant great mercy to Your people!

Glory: of the saint, even if there is, or else:

Glory, even now: Holy Cross: O glorious miracle! O mysteries of the new! Oh terrible undertaking! The Virgin says, on the Cross you are seen, in the midst of the two robbers, who gave birth to a painless and terrible birth, crying saying: woe is Me, dearest child like You Have you nailed the cruel and ungrateful people to the Cross?

Glory... Stichera to the saint, if there is one. If not, then

Glory... and now... Holy Cross. “Oh, an unprecedented miracle, a strange mystery, a terrible event! “This is what the Virgin said when she saw You, born to Her painlessly and fearfully [for the mind], hanged between two thieves on the Cross. And she exclaimed with tears: “Oh, beloved Child, alas for Me!” How did a fierce and ungrateful people nail you to the Cross?”

Σταυροθεοτοκίον. Ὢ τοῦ παραδόξου θαύματος! ὢ μυστηρίου καινοῦ! ὢ φρικτῆς ἐγχειρήσεως! ἡ Παρθένος ἔλεγεν· ἐν Σταυρῷ σε ὡς ἔβλεψεν, ἐν μέσῳ δύο λῃστῶν κρεμάμενον, ὃν ἀνωδύνως, φρικτῶς ἐκύησεν, ἔκλαιε λέγουσα· Οἴμοι τέκνον φίλτατον! πῶς ὁ δεινός, δῆμος καὶ ἀχάριστος, Σταυρῷ προσήλωσε;
