Because I am a den of evil deeds, I have no end to sinful customs, because my mind is nailed down by earthly things. What will I do? We don't know. And to whom shall I resort, that my soul may be saved? Only to you, Saint John, give the same name of grace, for you are before the Lord according to the Mother of God, greater than all who were born, for you were deemed worthy to touch the top of the King Christ, who is on earth sins of the world, the Lamb of God. Pray to him for my sinful soul, so that from now on, in the first ten hours, I will bear a good burden and accept recompense with the last. To her, the Baptist of Christ, the honest Forerunner, the extreme Prophet, the first martyr in grace, the teacher of fasters and hermits, the teacher of purity and the close friend of Christ!

I pray to you, I come running to you: do not reject me from your intercession, but raise me up, cast down by many sins. Renew my soul with repentance, as with the second baptism, since you are the ruler of both: with baptism you wash away ancestral sin, and with repentance you cleanse every bad deed. Cleanse me, defiled by my sins, and force me to enter, even if nothing bad enters, into the Kingdom of Heaven. Amen.

Orthodoxy to the zealot and schism to the eradicator, / Russian healer, and new prayer book to God, / with your writings you have made them whole, / spiritual priest, Demetrius Blessed, // pray to Christ God to save our souls.

Кондак, глас 8-й

The Russian star rose from Kiev, / and through Novgrad Seversky reached Rostov, / but illuminated this entire country with teachings and miracles, / let us please the golden-speaking teacher Demetrius, / for that is all written, even for instruction,/ so that he will win everyone, like Paul, to Christ,// and save our souls through orthodoxy.

Молитва

Oh, wonderful and glorious miracle worker Demetrius, healer of human ailments! You constantly pray to the Lord our God for all sinners: I pray to you, be my intercessor before the Lord and my helper to overcome the passions of my insatiable flesh and to overcome the arrows of the enemy my devil, who hurts my weak heart and, like a smooth and fierce beast, wants to destroy my soul. You, Saint of Christ, are my fence, you are my intercession and weapon! With your help, I will crush everything in me that is opposed to the will of the King of kings. You, great miracle worker, in the days of your exploits in this world, zealous for the Orthodox Church of God, like a true and good shepherd, kindly denounced your sins and ignorance human, and those who strayed from the path of truth into heresies and schisms, you guided them to the path of truth.

Make haste for me to correct the short-lived path of my life, so that I may unfalteringly follow the path of God’s commandments and work without laziness for my Lord Jesus Christ, as the only one My Lord, my Redeemer and my righteous Judge. Falling down to this, I pray to You, servant of God, when you remove my soul from my body, deliver me from dark ordeals, for I will not give good deeds for my justification, do not give Satan to be proud of the victory over my weak soul. Deliver me from Gehenna, where weeping and gnashing of teeth, and through your holy prayers make me a partaker of the Heavenly Kingdom in the Trinity of the glorified God, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Thy martyr, Lord, Longinus,/ in his suffering will receive an incorruptible crown from Thee, our God:/ having Thy strength,/ overthrow the tormentors,/ crush even the weak demons insolence./ Through prayers// save our souls.

Кондак, глас 4-й

The Church rejoiced joyfully / today in memory of the ever-memorable sufferer Longinus, crying // You are my power, Christ, and affirmation.

Молитва

Oh, holy martyr Longinus! Pilate ordered you and the soldiers to stand guard at the cross of the Lord Jesus. But you, having been ill with your eyes and healed by a drop of the Lord’s blood that dropped into your eyes, gained spiritual insight and, seeing the miracles that took place at the crucifixion of the Lord, both coward and sunny eclipse, and the resurrection of the dead from their graves, he clearly confessed Jesus Christ as the Son of God. And being with the custodian at the tomb of the Lord, and the Resurrection of Christ in awe in vain, the pieces of silver given by the Sanhedrin for hiding the resurrection, you rejected and, having preached Christ, you were truncated at the head. And after the beheading of a certain widow, whose eyes were ill, you appeared in the snow, and to her, who had found your honest head, you gave her sight. We pray to you, holy martyr of Christ Longinus, to those who are sick in the eyes, show your immediate help and heal them, so that, having been freed from their illness, they would not want to see anything that inflames lust, but they rushed to the contemplation of spiritual beauty, glorifying God. Amen.

Тропарь, глас 4-й

You are like a merchant looking for good beads, / glorious Vladimir, / at the height of the table sits the mother of the city, God-saved Kiev: / testing and sending to To the royal city/ you brought the Orthodox faith,/ you found priceless pearls - Christ,/ who chose you like the second Paul,/ and shook off blindness into the holy font,/ both spiritual and physical./ Moreover, we celebrate your dormition,/ your people // pray that your Russian ruler and many who rule will be saved.

Кондак, глас 8-й

Having resembled the great Apostle Paul in his gray hairs, the all-glorious Vladimir,/ all the wisdom of a child, even the care of idols, was abandoned,/ like a perfect man was adorned with the Divine Baptism with scarlet./ And now the Savior Christ stands before us in joy, // pray that the ruler of the Russian powers and the multitude of those who rule will be saved.

Молитва

Oh, great and glorious servant of God, God-chosen and God-glorified, Equal-to-the-Apostles to Prince Vladimir, holy and magnificent instrument of the all-good Providence for the salvation of the Russian people! You rejected pagan evil and wickedness, you believed in the One True Trinitarian God and, having received holy Baptism, you enlightened you with the light of Divine faith and piety Russian country. Glorifyingly, thanking the Most Merciful Creator and our Savior, we glorify and thank you, great shepherd and our Father, for through you we have known the saving faith of Christ and have been baptized in the name of the Most Holy and Divine Trinity, by the same faith we were delivered from the righteous condemnation of God, the eternal slavery of the devil and the torment of hell, by that faith we received grace sonship to God and the hope of inheriting Heavenly bliss.

You are our first leader to the Author and Finisher of our eternal salvation, the Lord Jesus Christ, you are the closest representative before the Throne of the King of Kings and a warm man of prayer and Intercessor for our country and for all people, you are the primary culprit of the blessings and mercies of God that rest upon us. And what else are we talking about? Our language cannot describe the greatness and height of your good deeds poured out on us unworthy. But, oh our foolishness and blindness! Having accepted so many good deeds, I imputed it to nothing and emptied of your saving fruits. Having washed ourselves from sin in the font of Baptism and put on the robe of purity and innocence, we have desecrated this blessed robe with our frozen deeds and thoughts. Having renounced Satan and his angels, we again become enslaved to him, serving as the idol of our passions, the world, the flesh and the evil custom of the age.

Having united with Christ, we offend Him with our iniquities, the manifold wounds of pride, envy, malice, slander, intemperance and contempt for the Holy Church. We cling entirely to worldly blessings, hoping to remain on earth forever; we do not think about Heaven, about the soul, about death, about judgment, about endless eternity. For this reason, we raise up the righteous wrath and condemnation of God against all of us, but we also insult and grieve your fatherly love and care for us, for you have enlightened us with holy Baptism, in the same way help us to receive Heavenly bliss and earthly prosperity, but we, foolishly, through our evil will, subject ourselves to hellish torment and temporary disaster! But, O all-merciful Father and Enlightener, be merciful to our weaknesses, long-suffering towards our sins and injustices, beg the Most Merciful King of Heaven, that he may not be angry with us and He will destroy us with our iniquities, but may He have mercy and save us, which is the message of our destinies.

May His saving fear plant His saving fear in our hearts, may our minds be enlightened by His grace, even as we see the abyss of destruction, we strive to leave the paths of wickedness and error and turn to the path of salvation and truth, to unswervingly fulfill the commandments of God and the statutes of the Holy Church. Pray, kindly, to the Lover of Mankind, may He show us His great mercy, may He deliver us from the invasion of foreigners, from internal unrest, riots and strife, from deadly famine illnesses, and from all evil, may he give us the blessing of the air and the fruitfulness of the earth, may he preserve truth and mercy in those who judge and rule, may he give to spiritual shepherds purity of life and zeal for the salvation of the flock, but for all people, diligence in fulfilling their duties, mutual love and like-mindedness, striving for the good of the fatherland and the Holy Church.

May the light of saving faith spread throughout our country, to all ends of it, may it convert non-believers to orthodoxy, may it abolish all heresies and schisms, yes, having lived in peace on earth, let us be worthy of by you eternal bliss, praising and exalting God forever and ever. Amen.
