O All-powerful Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and seed of theirs: Thou who didst create the heavens and the earth with all their beauty, who didst bind the sea by Thy word of command, who didst close the abyss, and didst seal it with Thine awesome and glorious name, before which all fear and tremble because of the constant splendor of Thy glory; and we cannot endure Thine anger, which Thou dost pour out upon sinners.

O boundless and unfathomable mercy promised Thee: for Thou art Lord from on high, full of goodness. Long-suffering and exceedingly merciful, Thou dost forgive the sins of men. O Lord, by Thy multitude of good deeds, Thou didst promise repentance and remission to those who sin against Thee; and by Thy abundant grace, Thou hast appointed repentance for sinners for their salvation.

O Lord, Thou art the strength of all, Thou didst not impose repentance upon Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who had not sinned against Thee. But Thou didst impose it upon me, a sinner: for I have sinned more than the sands of the sea. My iniquities are multiplied, O Lord, my iniquities are multiplied; and I am not worthy to behold or see the height of Thy heavenly glory from the multitude of my unrighteousnesses.

O many times smitten with iron fetters, that Thou didst not lift up my head, nor have I any weakness: for I provoked Thine anger, and by craftiness I did what was contrary to Thy will, neither keeping Thy commandments.

Now I bow down the knee of my heart, beseeching Thee for Thy goodness: for I have sinned, and I know my iniquities. But I pray Thee, strengthen me, O Lord, strengthen me, and do not destroy me with my iniquities.

Below in the depths Thou hast kept watch over my soul, and Thou hast judged me in the lower parts of the earth. For Thou art God, full of mercy to those who repent; and Thou didst show all Thy goodness upon me, for unworthy as I am, Thou hast saved me by Thine abundant mercy. And I will praise Thee throughout my life: for all power belongeth unto Thee, O Lord, and Thy glory shall endure for ever and ever, Amen.
