O All-powerful Lord, God, Father Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and seed of theirs: Thou who didst create the heavens and earth with all their beauty, and by Thy word didst bind the sea, and didst shut up the abyss, and didst seal it with Thine awesome and glorious Name, before which all bow down and tremble at the sight of Thy great glory; we shall not endure Thine anger, which Thou hast poured out upon sinners. O unmeasurable and unfathomable mercy promised to us: for Thou art the Lord on high, full of compassion. Long-suffering and most merciful, bearing with our sins. Thou, O Lord, by Thy great goodness, didst promise repentance and remission of sins to those who come to Thee; and by Thy abundant grace, Thou hast appointed repentance for sinners for their salvation. But, O Lord, Thou dost not impose repentance upon the righteous Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who have not sinned against Thee. Yet Thou didst impose it upon me, a sinner: for I have sinned more than the sands of the sea. My iniquities are multiplied, O Lord, my iniquities are multiplied: and I am not worthy to behold or see the height of Thy heavenly glory from the multitude of my unrighteousnesses. I have been smitten with many iron fetters, whereby I cannot lift up my head; and there is no weakness in me: for I provoked Thine anger, and did evil before Thee, not doing Thy will nor keeping Thy commandments. And now I humbly beseech Thee of Thy goodness: for I have sinned, and I know the iniquities of mine own soul. But pray for me, strengthen me, O Lord, do not destroy me with my iniquities. Even to the end of time Thou hast kept watch over my soul, even judging me in the depths of the earth. For Thou art the Lord of those who repent, and on me didst Thou manifest all Thy goodness; for unworthy as I am, Thou hast saved me by Thine abundant mercy, and I will praise Thee throughout my life: for all power belongeth to Thee, O Lord, and Thy glory shall be for ever and ever. Amen.
