O All-powerful Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and their seed: Thou who didst create the heavens with all their beauty, and the earth with its loveliness; Thou who didst bind the sea by Thy word, and shuttest up the abyss, and sealed it with Thine awesome and glorious Name, before which all bow down in fear and tremble at the face of Thy might. For evermore, O Lord, be our glory unspeakable: for Thou art the Lord on high, full of mercy.

Thou art long-suffering and most merciful, and dost forgive the sins of men. Thou, O Lord, by Thine abundance of goodness, hast promised repentance and remission to those who sin against Thee; and by Thy many mercies, hast appointed repentance for sinners for their salvation.

But Thou, O Lord, hast not imposed repentance on the righteous, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who did not sin before Thee. But Thou hast laid repentance upon me, a sinner: for I have sinned more than the sands of the sea. My iniquities are multiplied, and my iniquities are multiplied; and I am not worthy to behold or see the height of Thy heavenly majesty from the multitude of my unrighteousness.

I was smitten with many iron fetters, whereby I could not lift up my head, and there is no weakening of me: for I provoked Thine anger, and did evil before Thee, not doing Thy will nor keeping Thy commandments. And now I bow down the knee of my heart, beseeching Thee for mercy: for I have sinned, and I know my iniquities.

But pray for me, O Lord, strengthen me, and do not destroy me with my iniquities. Even though Thou hast kept watch over my soul below, and judged me in the depths of the earth. For Thou art God of those who repent, and on me didst Thou show all Thy mercy; for unworthy as I am to be saved, by Thine exceeding great mercy, I will praise Thee in the days of my life: for all power belongeth unto Thee, and Thy glory shall endure for ever and ever. Amen.
