O All-powerful Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and their seed, righteous: Thou who didst create the heavens and the earth with all their beauty, and didst bind the sea by Thy word of command, and didst close the abyss, and didst seal it with Thy fearsome and glorious name, before which all things tremble and fear the face of Thy power everlastingly for Thy great glory; we shall not endure Thine anger, which Thou hast poured out upon sinners. O boundless and unfathomable is Thy mercy promised: for Thou art a high God, full of compassion. Long-suffering and most merciful, forgiving the sins of men. Thou, O Lord, by the abundance of Thy goodness, didst promise repentance and remission to those who come unto Thee, and by the multitude of Thy gifts, hast appointed repentance for sinners for their salvation. But Thou, O Lord, hast not imposed repentance upon Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who were without sin before Thee. Yet Thou hast laid it upon me, a sinner: for I have sinned more than the sands of the sea. My iniquities are multiplied, O Lord, my iniquities are multiplied: and I am not worthy to behold or see the height of Thy heavenly glory from the multitude of my unrighteousnesses. I have been smitten with many iron fetters, whereby I cannot lift up my head; and there is no weakening of me: for I provoked Thine anger, and did evil before Thee, not doing Thy will, nor keeping Thy commandments. And now I bow down the knee of my heart, beseeching Thee for Thy goodness: for I have sinned, I have sinned, and know my iniquities: but I pray Thee to strengthen me, O Lord, strengthen me, and do not destroy me with my iniquities. Even though I have been an enemy of Thee for a long time, Thou hast kept the soul of mine; and Thou hast judged me in the depths of the earth. For Thou art God, full of compassion to those who repent, and upon me didst Thou show all Thy goodness, for unworthy as I am, Thou hast saved me by Thine abundant mercy: and I will praise Thee in my days of life: for all power belongeth unto Thee, and Thy glory shall be for ever and ever, Amen.
