Before the Word of God was born of the Ever-Virgin, having been made incarnate from the Holy Virgin Mary, let us come and bow down: for He hath endured the burial, being delivered into it according to His own will; and He rose from the dead, saving me, a wanderer in sin.

Jesus Christ hath saved us, whom having crucified upon the cross by the hands of men, he held in the power of death for a little while: we glorify him in his three-day resurrection.

From the Archangel's hymn we take up the Resurrection of Christ: for He is our Saviour and our Salvation, in glory more terrible and powerful in strength; again He cometh to judge the world, which He created.

Glory, and praise now to Thee, O Virgin Theotokos, Gospel canticle:

Thou hast revealed the mysteries! Thou hast shown wonders, and preached the divine glory; for Emmanuel is the gate of death overcome by His love for man, but the key of virginity He did not break, for God: but thus from the womb He went forth as heard, so was incarnate; without passion He entered, unspeakably went out, according to the prophecy spoken: "These gates shall be opened unto Thee." None shall go in by them, save One, the Lord Jesus Christ, who holdeth the key of prayer.

Thy Resurrection, O Jesus Christ, hath enlightened all the world, and by Thy invocation Thou hast called unto Thee Thy creation: O All-powerful Lord, glory be to Thee.

All ye who sorrow, joy; and thou, O Intercessor of the afflicted, and thou, O Nourisher of the poor, to the strangers give comfort, and to the blind and weak visitation, and those who labor in prayer and intercession, and the needy give help, O Theotokos, from thy lofty right hand, thou Comforter: we beseech thee, save us, thy servants.

Every unrighteous deed, every sin, unrestrained and felt within me, I have wrought: every condemnation is just for me! Let there be mercy toward me from Thy holy ones, that I may not be condemned there; for Thou wilt write my prayer-maiden, my intercessor, to shame me not, O Faithful Evangelist.

And now, O God, when we have fallen into the place of prayer, and to the Creator and Intercessor we have no access: grant that Thou not smite us with Thy warm intercession; but rather by love hast humbled those who come under the shelter of Thy roof, O God of our fathers: strive thou, and give us Thy help, and now deliver us from present wrath.

Glory, and honour, now, O Theotokos, voice 3:

Whoever praises Thee fittingly and glorifieth Thee, O virgin Evangelist, who in thee was the world's salvation: we, thy handmaids, call Thee Rejoicing, saying: Rejoice, thou that didst save Adam by thy sanctification, and didst partake with Him. Rejoice, thou that didst enlighten our race with the light of thy Resurrection and of God our Saviour's: for Thy holy race we ever glorify Thee.
