Before the Word of God was born of the Ever-Virgin, having been made incarnate from the Holy Spirit, come let us adore: for having endured, He was delivered up to death by burial, as He Himself willed; and He rose from the dead, saving me, a wanderer in sin.
Jesus Christ hath saved us, whom having crucified upon the cross by the hands of men, he held in the power of death for a little while: we glorify him in his three-day resurrection.
From the Archangel we receive the hymn of the Resurrection of Christ: for He is our Saviour and our Salvation, in glory more terrible and powerful in might; again He cometh to judge the world, which He created.
Glory, and praise now to Thee, O Virgin Theotokos, Gospel canticle:
Blessed are the mysteries! I have seen wonders, I preach salvation; for Emmanuel is the gate of death overcome by His love for man, but the virgin's key He did not break by God: but thus from the womb He went forth as heard, and so was incarnate as conceived. Without passion He entered, unspeakably He departed, according to the prophecy spoken: "These gates shall be shut": no one shall go through them, except One, the Lord Jesus Christ, who holds the key of prayer.
Thou, O Jesus Christ, hast risen from the dead, enlightening all the world and calling unto Thee Thy creation: most mighty is Thy glory, Thee be glorified.
All ye who sorrow, joy; and thou, O Intercessor Theotokos, and thou, O Nourisher of the poor, comfort for strangers, and staff for the blind, visitation for the sick, those striving in prayer and intercessor, and helper of the needy, Mother of God, from on high, thou art most merciful: strive, we pray thee, to deliver thy servants.
Every unrighteous deed, every sin unrestrainedly committed by me: I have done all of them; I am worthy of every condemnation! O Lord, grant me repentance, for lest I be condemned there, I will write my prayer to the intercessor Theotokos, and call upon her, that thou mayest not disgrace me, O faithful herald of God.
Alone we have no refuge to which to flee, O Creator and Lord: do not let Thy warmth of intercession shame us, who come under the shelter of Thy roof, O God of our fathers; strive thou, and grant us Thy help, and save us from our present anger.
Glory now and ever, O Theotokos, voice 3:
Whoever shall praise Thee and bless Thee according to Thy worthiness, O youthful evangelist, who hast brought forth the salvation of the world: we, calling Thee glad, say to Thee, saying: Rejoice, having saved Adam by thy purification, and having separated the joined together. Rejoice, having enlightened our race with the light of thy resurrection from the dead and of Thy God, our Lord: for the race of Thine own glorified Theotokos ever blesseth Thee.
