Jesus Christ hath saved us, whom having crucified upon the cross by the hands of men, he held in the power of death for a little while: we glorify him in his three days' resurrection.
From the Archangel we receive the hymn of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ: for He is our Saviour and our Salvation, in glory more terrible and stronger in power; again He cometh to judge the world, which He created.
Glory, and praise now to Thee, O Virgin Theotokos, Gospel canticle:
Glory to the Mystery! I have seen wonders, I proclaim the Divine Gift; for Emmanuel is the Gate of Death overcome by His love for man, but the Virgin's Key was not broken by God: but thus He entered from the womb, as though by hearing; so He was Incarnate, as though by conception: without passion He entered, unspeakably and went forth, according to the Word spoken: these gates shall be shut: no one shall go through them, except One, the Lord Jesus Christ, who holds the key of prayer.
Risuscita, Thvoe Jesus Christ, enlightening all the universe and calling to Thee Thy creation: O almighty Lord, glory be to Thee.
All ye who sorrow, joy; and thou, O Protectress of the afflicted in spirit, and thou, O Nourisher of the poor, comfort for strangers, and thy rod to the blind, visitation of the weak, care for those striving in prayer and intercessor, and helper of the needy, Mother of God, from on high, thou art most merciful: strive, we pray thee, to save thy servants.
Every transgression of the law, every sin, unrepentant and heedless, I have committed: I am worthy of every condemnation! Let there be mercy for me from Thy holy ones, that I may not be condemned there; for Thou wilt write my prayer-maiden, my intercessor, to shame me not, O Faithful Witness.
And now, coming to the sanctuary, we who have no creator and master, except Thee, O God: do not let Thine intercession suddenly shame those who come under Thy roof with love; but hasten, and give us Thy help, and save us from our present anger.
Glory, and now, O Theotokos, voice [canto] v.:
Whoever praises Thee according to Thy worthiness, and glorifieth Thee, O virgin Evangelist, who in thee was the world's salvation: we, thy handmaids, call Thee Rejoicing, saying: Rejoice, having saved Adam by thy sanctification, and standing forth as the unifier. Rejoice, having enlightened our race with the light of thy Resurrection, O Saviour of our souls: for Thy holy race we continually glorify Thee.
