By the Life-giving Hand,
Having died from dark deceptions,
Life-bearer raised all Jesus Christ,
Raising to life the human race:
For He is the Saviour of all,
Raising both life and God of all.

O Lord, have mercy, Thee.

At every season, and in every hour, on high and on earth, to Thee, O Lord, be praised and glorified Jesus Christ, God, by Thy Holy Spirit, King, of exceeding mercy, long-suffering, full of compassion, righteous toward the loving, merciful toward the sinful, who calleth all unto salvation for the promise thereof: Thou, O Lord, hear our prayer in this hour, and make our life according to Thy commandments, sanctify our soul, cleanse our body, rectify our thoughts, purify our mind, and deliver us from every tribulation and sickness. Protect us by Thy holy angels, that by their intercession we may be kept and instructed, and attain unto the unity of faith, and into the depth of Thy ineffable glory: For Thou art blessed for ever and ever, Amen.

Thus: The Lord have mercy. [Three times.]

Glory to Thee, O God, and to Thy Christ, and to Thy Holy Spirit, both now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Most glorious Cherubim, and most renowned Seraphim, we magnify thy unflappable words of God's glory, O Theotokos, that gave birth thereto, being ever present in thee.

By the prayers of our holy Fathers, Jesus Christ, O Soul, have mercy on us, Amen.

Therefore, the prayer of the great saint Vasilia is also mighty:

Blessed be Thou, O Lord, and all Thy creatures, helping us by Thine ineffable prayers, for the sake of Thy mercy, which is from Thy only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, Who hath sent Thee down upon earth for the salvation of our race, and by Thy precious and written Word hast rent asunder the wounds of our sins, and by this hast overcome the powers of darkness: Thou, most merciful in Thine love towards man, receive our sinful prayers and supplications, and deliver us from every evil, all-ensnaring and dark sin; and forgive all them that seek Thee, both those visible and invisible enemies. Fasten upon our flesh the fear of Thy countenance, and let not our hearts turn aside to words or thoughts of wickedness: but by Thine love enlighten our souls, that ever looking unto Thee, and being instructed by Thee with light from Thee, we may offer unceasingly to Thee confession and thanksgiving, without beginning, to the Father and to Thy only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and to Thy Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

And we pray thee that thou wouldst represent her.

Illustrative.

Thou dost bless my soul, O Lord; blessed art Thou, O Lord.
