Venerable Queen, chosen by the Eternal King, surpassing every created thing in heaven and on earth, who came sometimes to the Church of Vlaherne for prayer; offering thee worthy veneration with thanksgiving, as in darkness present, under Thy shining censer with faith and compunction we flee. Thou, having invincible power, deliver us from all our sorrows, that we may call Thee:

Herald Angels and multitude of angels, with the Forerunner, the Theologian, and the likeness of all saints standing before Thee, Thy own Queen, in the church of Vlahernestey, having heard Thy compunction for all the world in prayer, with wonder cried out such things:

Seeing Thee, O Holy Andrei with Epifanius in the church on high for Christians praying to God Christ our Lord, knew that Thou art the Mother who hath uplifted Christ our God into heaven, and, falling prostrate upon the earth, joyfully we bowed down before Thy all-blessed covering, crying: Alleluia.
Ра́зумъ недоразумѣ́ненъ еси́, Богоро́дице Дѣ́во, въ защище́ніи люде́й правосла́вныхъ, сего́ ра́ди врази́ на́ши и не познаю́тъ, ко́ль сильна́ е́сть моли́тва Бо́жія Ма́тере. Мы́ же, о Твое́мъ всемо́щномъ заступле́ніи до́брѣ вѣ́дуще, си́це къ Тебѣ́ со умиле́ніемъ зове́мъ:
O Theotokos, Virgin, Wisdom is not understood by thee, for in the protection of the righteous people, our enemies do not know, how mighty is the prayer of God's Mother. And we, knowing the good effect of thy all-powerful intercession, with compunction call upon thee thus:
Ра́дуйся, премилосе́рдая утѣ́шительнице всѣ́хъ скорбя́щихъ и обремене́нныхъ;
Rejoice, most merciful Comforter of all who sorrow and are burdened;
Ра́дуйся, неусыпа́ющая наста́внице всѣ́хъ заблу́ждшихъ и ослѣпле́нныхъ.
Rejoice, O Unsleeping Instructor of all who wander astray and are blinded.
Ра́дуйся, пра́ведно дви́жимый гнѣ́въ Бо́жій на на́съ Твои́мъ моле́ніемъ ско́ро утоля́ющая;
Rejoice, righteously moved by God's wrath upon us through Thy prayer speedily appeasing;

Ра́дуйся, крѣ́пкое возбужде́ніе спя́щихъ со́вѣстей;
Rejoice, O strong awakening of sleeping consciences;

Rejoice, O effortless overcoming of lawless habits.

The might of the High One overshadoweth with faith and reverence those who flee unto Thy most holy covering: for by one point alone was given to all, that every petition of Thine be fulfilled, through the Venerable and Pure Mother of God. Therefore, every age of the faithful glorifieth Thee and Thy Son, crying: Alleluia.

O Lady, Thou who dost help us in the tempest of many afflictions, standing before the Lord's altar with uplifted hands and praying that the Lord, the King of glory, might behold our unworthy prayer and hear the supplications of those calling upon Thy holy name, even as they call upon Thy Son: Alleluia.

Hearken, O Lord God Jesus Christ, when Thou didst pray and command the sun to stand until Thou hadst avenged Thine enemies. And now doth the Lord Jesus, Thy chosen Tabernacle of the Holy Spirit, hear Thy present prayers. Therefore also we, sinners, in hope of Thy protection, boldly cry Thee: O Mother of God!

Rejoice, O enlightened by the Sun of Thought and illuminating us with an unsetting Light.

O Theotokos, Moses in the battle against Amalek, when his hand was raised, Israel prevailed; but when his hand was lowered, then Amalek prevailed. Strengthened by this, he overcame the enemy. Thou, O Mother of God, raising Thy hands in prayer, though without any support, ever dost overcome the Christian enemies, and art our invincible Shield, crying out: Alleluia.

Seeing Thee, O Lord, in the assembly of saints on high in the Church of Vlaherne, with hands uplifted in prayer to the Son and God, joyfully the archangels and angels sang Thee a hymn of thanksgiving. We also, strengthened by Thy mighty hand more than by Moses' hands, humbly cry out:

Rejoice, O Thou who dost converse in pure and silent prayer with them that strive in fasting.

Rejoice, O Comforter swift to relieve them that are wearied and faint in spirit and sorrow.

Rejoice, O Grace of the meekness and patience supplying.

Prophecy unceasing blessings and mercies of Thine, O Holy Roman Sweet Singer, didst thou, by the gift of Thee in a dream, behold a book for thy sustenance; thereby being instructed, thou beganst to reason wisely concerning Thy glory, and with saints didst write laudable things, crying with faith: Alleluia.

Lord, Most Patient and All-Seeing, Thou hast shown forth Thy human-loving boundless mercy to man by choosing Thee alone as His Mother, and Thou didst make Thee a defense unassailable for men: that even if any of them be found worthy of judgment by the divine judgment, through Thee they are preserved under the protection of Thy mighty power for repentance; cry out: Alleluia.

Blessed be the Godhead, O Lord, pray for us to Thy Son and God, stretch forth Thine hand of help to us, deliver us from every enemy and adversary, reconcile our life, that we perish not cruelly, without repentance, but receive us into everlasting fountains, our Protectress, where rejoicing we call Thee: Alleluia.

O Most Pure Virgin, Mother of the Lord of the heavenly powers, Queen of our city and country, all-powerful Intercessor! Receive this hymn of praise and thanksgiving from us, Thy unworthy servants, and raise up our prayers to the throne of God, Thy Son, that He may be merciful towards our injustices and show His grace to those who reverently and with love venerate Thy most holy name and image. For we are not worthy to receive mercy from Him, save Thou, O Mistress, for all things are possible to Thee from Him. For this reason, we flee to Thee as to the most certain and speedy Intercessor: hear our prayers, O Mistress, overshadow us with Thy almighty protection, and ask of God, Thy Son, our shepherd—zeal and watchfulness over souls; mayors—wisdom and strength; judges—righteousness and honesty; teachers—understanding and humility; spouses—love and harmony; children—obedience; those wronged—patience; those who wrong others—the fear of God; the sorrowful—goodwill; the joyful—moderation; to all of us—mind and piety, spirit of mercy and meekness, spirit of purity and righteousness. O Holy Theotokos, my Queen, my Hope, my Most Pure, my Helper in times of distress and tribulation, my Protector from the enemies who persecute me, behold my trouble, behold my sorrow: I am everywhere beset by temptation, and there is none to intercede for me. Thou, O Thou Who art the Intercessor, help me, as one weak and foreign, guide me, as one astray, heal me and save me, as one without hope.
