Venerable Queen, chosen by the Eternal King, surpassing every created thing in heaven and on earth, who came sometimes to the Church of Vlaherne for prayer, we offer thee worthy veneration with thanksgiving, as in the darkness being, under Thy shining censer with faith and compunction we flee. Thou, having invincible power, deliver us from all our sorrows, that we may call Thee:

Rejoice, O Thou whose Blessed and Goodly Covering we, the earth-born, reverently and thankfully prostrate ourselves before.

Saw Thee, O Holy Andrei with Epifanius in the church on high for Christians praying to God, knew that Thou art the Mother who raised up Christ our God into heaven, and, falling to the earth, joyfully prostrated themselves before Thy all-blessed covering, crying: Alleluia.
Ра́зумъ недоразумѣ́ненъ еси́, Богоро́дице Дѣ́во, въ защище́ніи люде́й правосла́вныхъ, сего́ ра́ди врази́ на́ши и не познаю́тъ, ко́ль сильна́ е́сть моли́тва Бо́жія Ма́тере. Мы́ же, о Твое́мъ всемо́щномъ заступле́ніи до́брѣ вѣ́дуще, си́це къ Тебѣ́ со умиле́ніемъ зове́мъ:
O Theotokos, Venerable Maiden, Thy understanding is not confounded, in the protection of the righteous people; therefore our enemies do not know, how mighty is the prayer of God's Mother. We, knowing the good effect of Thy all-powerful intercession, with compunction thus call upon Thee:
Ра́дуйся, премилосе́рдая утѣ́шительнице всѣ́хъ скорбя́щихъ и обремене́нныхъ;
Rejoice, most merciful Comforter of all who sorrow and are burdened;
Ра́дуйся, неусыпа́ющая наста́внице всѣ́хъ заблу́ждшихъ и ослѣпле́нныхъ.
Rejoice, O Unsleeping Instructor of all who wander astray and are blinded.

Rejoice, righteously moved by God's wrath upon us through Thy prayer quickly appeasing;

Rejoice, strong awakening of sleeping consciences;

Rejoice, O effortless overcoming of lawless habits.
Rădău-te, Aia cără la care stunele și spiritii răului tremurează;

Rejoice, Thou by whom the gates of Hades are opened unto us all.

The might of the High One overshadoweth with faith and reverence them that flee unto Thy most holy covering: for by one point to Thee, O Most Holy and Pure Mother of God, was given, that every petition of Thine be fulfilled. Therefore all the ages of the faithful glorify Thee and Thy Son, crying: Alleluia.

Having the unsparing treasury of mercy, Thou extendest Thy hand of help to all ends of the earth, O Mistress: to the sick — healing, to the suffering — relief, to the blind — sight, and to all whatsoever, Thou dost give according to their need, and with thanksgiving do they cry out to Thee.

O Lady, in the tempest of many misfortunes Thou dost help us; standing before the Lord's altar with uplifted hands and praying that the Lord, the King of glory, might behold our unworthy prayer and hear the supplications of those calling upon Thy holy name: for to Thee also do they cry out to Thy Son. Alleluia.

Hearken, O Lord God Jesus Christ, when Thou didst pray and command the sun to stand until Thou hadst avenged Thine enemies. And now doth the Lord Jesus, Thy chosen Tabernacle of the Holy Spirit, hear Thy prayers even now. Therefore also we, sinners, in hope of Thy protection, boldly cry Thee: O Mother of God!

Rejoice, O enlightened by the Light of Reason and illuminating us with an Unsetting Light;

Rejoice, O Shining One, by the light of Thy pure soul Thou hast enlightened all the earth.

Богови́децъ Моисе́й въ ополче́ніи иногда́ на Амали́ка, егда́ ру́цѣ воздвиза́ше, Изра́иль одолѣва́ше, егда́ же ру́цѣ низпуща́ше, тогда́ Амали́къ побѣжда́ше, поддержа́щими же его́ укрѣпле́нъ, побѣди́ врага́. O Theotokos, Moses in the battle against Amalek sometimes raised his rod and Israel prevailed; but when he lowered it, Amalek prevailed. With those supporting him, he was strengthened, and he overcame the enemy. But thou, O Mother of God, raising thy hands in prayer, though unsupported, always dost overcome the Christian enemies, and art our invincible shield, crying out: Alleluia.

Having seen Thee, O Lord, in the assembly of saints upon high in the Church of Vlaherne, with hands uplifted in prayer to Thy Son and God, joyfully Thou hast been praised by the archangels and angels with a hymn. We also, strengthened by Thine hand more firmly than Moses' rods, humbly cry out:
Ра́дуйся, Ея́же ру́цѣ поддержи́тъ за всѣ́хъ на́съ еди́ная Ея́ къ на́мъ любо́вь и милосе́рдіе;
Rejoice, Thou Whose right hand upholdeth us with one love and mercy for all of us.

Lord, Most Patient and All-Seeing, may it please Thee to reveal the boundless depth of Thy human-loving mercy. Thou didst choose for Thyself a single Mother among men, and didst make her an unassailable shelter for mankind: that even he who from among them is found worthy of judgment by the righteous judgment of God, through Thy power may be preserved under the protection of Thy countenance for repentance, crying out: Alleluia.

O Heavenly King—thus spake the All-Pure Queen standing with the Angels in prayer—receive every man who prayeth unto Thee and calleth upon My name for help, that He may not be cast from My countenance nor go unheard. Having heard this most gracious prayer, the holy assembly praised and said:

As one receiving a light of divine illumination in prayer, seeing Thee on high at the Vlaherna Church, according to the multitude that was there, they cried out: "From where do I find this, that the Mother of my Lord comes to me?" Saint Andrew and Epiphanius fervently prayed to Thee, calling out:

O all-praising Mother, most pure Lady, Virgin Mother of God! To Thee I lift up my soully and bodily eyes, to Thee I stretch out my feeble hands, and from the depths of my heart I cry: Look upon my faith and humility, cover me with Thy mighty veil, that I may be delivered from all ills and calamities, and at the hour of my death, O All-blessed One, stand before me and through Thy prepared mercy deliver me from torments, that ever I may kneel and call: Alleluia.

Сего́ ра́ди къ Тебѣ́ прибѣга́емъ, я́ко къ несомнѣ́ннѣй и ско́рой Засту́пницѣ на́шей: услы́ши на́съ, моля́щихся Тебѣ́, осѣни́ на́съ вседержа́внымъ покро́вомъ Твои́мъ и испроси́ у Бо́га, Сы́на Твоего́, па́стыремъ на́шимъ — ре́вность и бдѣ́ніе о душа́хъ, градоправи́телямъ — му́дрость и си́лу, судія́мъ — пра́вду и нелицепрія́тіе, наста́вникомъ — ра́зумъ и смиренному́дріе, супру́гамъ — любо́вь и согла́сіе, ча́дамъ — послуша́ніе, оби́димымъ — терпѣ́ніе, оби́дящимъ — стра́хъ Бо́жій, скорбя́щимъ — благоду́шіе, ра́дующимся — воздержа́ніе, всѣ́мъ же на́мъ — ду́хъ ра́зума и благоче́стія, ду́хъ милосе́рдія и кро́тости, ду́хъ чистоты́ и пра́вды. Ей, Госпоже́ Пресвята́я, умилосе́рдися на немощны́я лю́ди Твоя́: разсѣ́янныя собери́, заблу́ждшія на пу́ть пра́вый наста́ви, ста́рость поддержи́, ю́ныя уцѣлому́дри, младе́нцы воспита́й, и при́зри на всѣ́хъ на́съ призрѣ́ніемъ ми́лостиваго Твоего́ заступле́нія, воздви́гни на́съ изъ глубины́ грѣхо́вныя и просвѣти́ серде́чныя о́чи на́ша къ зрѣ́нію спасе́нія. O Most Pure Virgin, Mother of the Lord of Hosts, Queen of Heaven and Earth, Empress of our city and country, all-powerful Intercessor! Receive this hymn of praise and thanksgiving from us, Thy unworthy servants, and lift up our prayers to the throne of God, Thy Son, that He may be merciful towards our iniquities and reveal His grace to those who reverence Thy most holy name with faith and love, adoring Thy wondrous image. We are not worthy to receive mercy from Him, but Thou hast moved Him with compassion for us, O Mistress, since all things are possible to Thee from Him. For this reason we flee to Thee as to our certain and speedy Intercessor: hear us who pray to Thee, overshadow us with Thy almighty protection, and beseech God, Thy Son, our Shepherd—zeal and watchfulness for the souls, governors—wisdom and strength, judges—righteousness and uprightness, instructors—understanding and humility, spouses—love and agreement, children—obedience, those wronged—patience, those who wrong—awe of God, those in sorrow—goodwill, those rejoicing—temperance, all of us—the spirit of reason and piety, the spirit of mercy and meekness, the spirit of purity and righteousness. Have mercy on Thy feeble people, O Most Pure Mistress: gather together the scattered, lead the erring onto the right path, support the aged, instruct the young, nurture the virgins, and look upon all of us with the gaze of Thy merciful intercession, raise us up from the depths of our sins and enlighten our hearts to see the vision of salvation. Be merciful to us here and there, in the land of our earthly sojourn and at the fearful judgment of Thy Son. Having departed this life in faith and repentance, our fathers and brothers may live with Thee forever in eternal life with the angels and all the saints. For Thou art, O Mistress, the glory of the heavenly and hope of the earthly, Thou art our Hope and Intercessor for all who come to Thee with faith. To Thee we pray now and always, ourselves and one another, and offer up our entire life before Thee, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

O Holy Theotokos, my Queen, my Hope, my Most Pure, my Helper in times of distress and tribulation, my Protector from the enemies who persecute me: behold my affliction, behold my sorrow; I am surrounded by trials from all sides, and there is none to intercede for me. Thou, O Thou Who art the Intercessor, help me, as I am weak, nourish me, as I am a stranger, guide me, as I am astray, heal me and save me, as I am without hope. For I have no other help, nor any advocate or comfort but Thee, O Mother of all who suffer and are burdened! Therefore, look upon me, the sinful one and one who is in distress, and cover me with Thy Most Holy Veil, that I may be delivered from evil which surrounds me, and praise Thee always. Amen.
