On the Sabbath at the Great Vespers

By Thy mercy, O Jesus Christ, Thou hast destroyed the power of death and made the devil's delusion a spectacle; and man's race is saved by faith: ever doth it bring Thee a hymn.

Thou, O Lord, by Thy Resurrection hast enlightened all creation; and again the paradise hath been restored: all Thy creatures praising Thee, make a perpetual song to Thee.

I glorify the Lord and Saviour, and the Theotokos with power, and the holy Power of the Spirit, the unseparated, uncreated Divinity, the indivisible, reigning in the age enduring.

We bow in honor of Thy holy Body, O Christ, and we sing Thy resurrection and glorify it: for by Thy early coming Thou hast healed us all.

We sing to the Saviour from the depths of our being: for our sake He was crucified, and on the third day He arose, granting us great mercy.

Thou that didst descend into hell in the flesh, O Jesus Christ: Be of good cheer, preaching, for now have I conquered, I am the Resurrection and the Life, I have raised thee up, having broken the gates of death.

Worthy not being we who stand in thy most holy house, even this evening canticle do we send up to thee, calling with depths of heart:
O Lighten thou the world by thy three-day resurrection, O Lover of mankind, and turn away men from the hands of thy enemies.

O Theotokos,

As we marvel at Thy divine conception, O Lord, most wonderful; for Thou didst not receive the blameless temptation of a man, but by Thy own flesh before the ages didst bring forth without a father a pure and unspotted creation, neither undergoing change nor mixture nor division, but preserving in itself its own nature whole. Therefore, O Lady, Mother of God, pray to save our souls righteously confessing Thee.
